Quality Block and Basement just replaced 3 of our four basement walls on our 1914 house and dug out our crawlspace and placed full walls underneath our kitchen above it. The original intention was only to do the crawlspace but when Aaron, the owner, came out give us an estimate it became clear we needed to replace most of our existing foundation to make that job stable. Aaron was always good about returning my phone calls throughout the rather long process. Because it was a large project it had to be scheduled 6 months ahead of time, and he kept in contact and even wound up starting the project early. QB&B was willing to work with me to procure old-style rock face block so that the work would look age-appropriate to the old house, and the result was a really good-looking foundation that looks original. This was a new twist to the project using heavier block, added by me after we had agreed on the scope of work, and Aaron helped me figure out how much of this special block I needed to order. When the crew arrived, they went right to work. Tom, the crew leader, knows how to organize a large project, how to safely support a house, and is highly skilled at using an excavator and loader to dig out a foundation. He and Javier (the other main crew member) worked very hard each day and kept the project moving as they worked their way around the house in sections. Mark, the block layer with 40 years experience came in after each section was removed and new footings poured, and erected the walls with help from Tom and Javier. There was amazingly little effect on the rest of the house from raising it enough to remove the walls and setting it down on new ones. A few vinyl tiles in the kitchen showed a crack and a plaster wall or two showed a new crack in one or two locations. I’m really very impressed at the minimal impact on the first and second stories. The project took somewhat longer than 6 weeks. So it is really important that the workers are pleasant people to have around and in the house. In all honesty I enjoyed watching them work and both Tom and Aaron were good at communicating with me when unexpected things happened (as they will with a large project) and about what we wanted to do when decisions had to be made. FWIW, we have been restoring this house for 25 years and do most work ourselves, because we are pretty picky. I was able to coordinate with the crew to do the non-concrete work that occasionally had to be done, for example putting in basement windows and move plumbing out of the way. So I was there observing the work each day. I could see that the footings were substantial and well-reinforced with heavy rebar. The walls themselves got vertical rebar at regular intervals and heavy rebar horizontal reinforcement at somewhat above the midpoint. The will be there long after we are gone. And they look really good, both inside and out. I would happily recommend Quality Block and Basement to anyone needing basement walls or a whole foundation replaced. This project came out really well.

Could not be happier with the work i received from Quality Block. Aaron and his team absolutely know their jobs very well. The team of workers were very friendly and easy to work with and paid very close attention to detail on every aspect of the job. They were always willing to explain things to me if i didn't understand. They were not shy about making suggestions along the way that made the finished project even better. I received many bids on this job and I can say with confidence that I made the right choice by going with Quality Block. Thanks Aaron.

Aaron and his crew did an awesome job completely replacing the foundation on my 120+ year old home. As you would guess, those old walls held many secrets that you cant expect a contractor to know before work begins. But his crew was always quick to call me and discuss our options before they took matters into their own hands. Best of all, Aaron still found a way to come in on budget! You can trust these guys with your home, you wont regret it!

Aaron and his team were professional and thorough. Each day while doing foundation work I was informed of what would be done. All my questions were answered, different options were discussed and agreed upon. They are a trustworthy team, thanks Aaron, Tom, Santos and Mark.

Yes!
Vern, I used Quality Block after getting 3 different professional estimates for my basement repair. I ultimately chose them for my repairs and am very happy with the workmanship and outcome. Price was very fair. I wasn't forced into any extra repairs or work which would have been unnecessary. I recommend Quality Block.
