I am absolutely thrilled that Points East Veterinary Specialty Hospital was there for my pup Remington this week. On Wednesday morning I received a phone call that my dog was found after being hit by a 18 wheeler and left for dead but a bystander who witnessed the hit called me and I immediately sprung into action and started calling clinics. I originally got him to a local urgent care for stabilization so I could in hopes transfer to here or the clinic I work at. When he arrived to the urgent vet he was diagnosed with a pneumothorax and ruptured spleen. He got stabilized and immediately transferred to this facility in case he needed surgery. The doctors I spoke with were so nice and took great care of him. He is currently at my clinic after they did amazing care getting him past the tough part of his recovery period. Thank you so much π I was so scared I was going to lose my baby

I have never been immediately greeted with such hostility at any vet Iβve been to, emergency or not. I had gone to try and help a family member cover payment to get treatment started, and was only asking for a simple breakdown/explanation of the costs. Apparently it was too much for the vet tech who I could tell was frustrated (you work at an emergency vet and not everyone has thousands of dollars lying around things take time to try and arrange) and I did not appreciate the attitude I got from her. Google says yβall are 24 hours so itβs not my fault you work graveyard shift. I will NEVER be bringing my own pets here if an emergency ever arises I will happily drive anywhere else.

We had to take one of our dogs because it was his time to go and in severe pain (Cushings). Granted we did wait in the car for about two hours - that was the only drawback of visiting here on a Sunday. We explained what we needed to do and they were very compassionate about helping us and made our last moments with our dog easier.

By far the worst experience, I have arrived to The clinic around 2 in the morning On 09/11/2022 they told me I was in the waiting list and that it would be 5am before I am seen. I have been waiting in my car patiently they came out around 4 am to inform me they are a little backed up and wonβt be able to see me until 7am at this time I am frustrated because my older dog seem to be having a stroke. The young lady at the front desk came up to me again to inform me that there is no vet on staff and that I wouldnβt be able to be seen until 10. By far the worse experience ever I donβt understand why they donβt have more vets on staff during the night if they can have about 3 during the day.

Thank you for your question! Yes, some members of our staff are fluent in Spanish and can help translate important medical information.
I would get her in to be checked. With nausea, I would expect dehydration since oral fluids can't adequately maintain hydration. I would be concerned with a possible bowel blockage. Better safe than sorry. Situations like this can go badly in a short time.
