Great location with swimming, canoeing and hiking. The facilities are a bit run down but the new owners are committed to making improvements. The staff tries really hard as well. The restaurant is good with a tasty, albeit limited, menu.

We had an amazing experience here! We were in Kirkwood and went to dinner here for my son’s 9th birthday. They gave him cake to share and then after dinner started up the fire pit and brought out stuff for s’mores! Kids played ping pong and huge jenga. Beautiful view and very hospitable!

Friends and I were camping in silver Lake national Park which is contiguous to kit Carson Lodge. So we spent time eating, shopping and enjoying the kit Carson Lodge and it's place on silver Lake. It was the end of June 2022. The area had had the half a day or more brain recently and the wildflowers were beautiful in the cross the road. The hike to potholes was also wonderful. An interesting thing happened that potholes are 5G service came back online. Not sure how but it was there. Kit Carson Lodge has Wi-Fi throughout their facilities. They have been going through a renovation of recent as the leaseholders changed. It's a wonderful spot. Bring your kayak and fishing pole and hiking shoes.
