Overpriced for the quality. Burger fries and a drink is $13. Only order from a kiosk, got our order wrong, took 20 minutes from order to receive food . Have to pick up our own food. Paper straws. So it costs almost 40 for 2 people to place their own order, pick up their own food, bus their own table and the food sucks? No thanks

Wasn't the best experience. Using a kiosk to order wasn't a big deal, the happy hour deal was good. The encounter with staff not so pleasant. Tried to give us something we didn't order. The chocolate shake needs work, I really couldn't identify that it was actually chocolate. But one bad experience won't keep me away.

The ordering kiosks were hard to use causing lines as people tried to order. The food was classic well prepared burgers / fries / milkshakes. The other drinks were a sort of self serve mess (coffee from a Keurig?). Eh. Good food at decent prices.

My family loves Steak and Shake. It's a great place to go when you want reasonably priced food but still get sit-down service. That is no longer the case. We went last night (2-25-22) and found that they have completely changed the set up of this restaurant. They no longer have table service. They no longer have a human being to take your order or bring you your food. Now you must order and pay at touch screen kiosks located at the entrance. My husband ended up helping an elderly gentleman trying to use one near us because there we no employees to help. I got our order in and paid for and was glad that we could at least still use cash, as the kiosk took both cash and card. We then chose our own seating. We purposefully chose a booth by the pick-up counter so we wouldn't have to carry four meals across the place. Fountain drinks are now self-serve and the cups are just sitting next to the machine so anyone can walk up and just get what they want whether they paid for it or not. Milkshakes are dropped off at the pick-up counter and you have to go get them. Same with the food. If you want napkins, they are available by the fountain drinks. Once you are done, you clean up yourself. So, the food was still good. And I know many places are doing this now and I'm not against it. But the reason we went there was because I wanted to sit down and have someone else bring me food. As the person who makes and serves most of the meals at home, I appreciate having someone else do it once in a while. If we had known before hand that this was no longer the case here, we would have gone somewhere else. We'll still go here for the drive-thru, but that's probably all. We still enjoyed the meal, but half the fun of Steak and Shake was the experience and now that it's gone, I just don't see us eating here as often.

Almost every Steak n Shake I've seen in The Ohio Valley (maybe further) from Cleveland/Youngstown through Pittsburgh area are officially closed. They're trying to get new franchise owners for the locations.
