One thing I really like about Washington and Oregon are that there are plenty of Renaissance festivals to go to. I really enjoyed the Northwest Renaissance Festival. It is in a good location with a nice setup. They have good food and good vendors. They also have very good shows. Always worth going to one of their Renaissance festivals.

Almost no vendors/cast/food to speak of. The few that were there tried really hard but no where near worth the entrance fee. Far far cry from the Detroit Renn fest I have been to the last few years.

When I went to the nine mile renaissance fair, the perk was a June bug that scared my mother. There was no more than 20 people, the whole place seemed tacked together and it was very difficult to find. It would have been better if it had more activities, vendors, or there was any reason at all to come instead of holding out until October for the one in Colbert. One out of Ten, Won't go again.

You cannot bring real weapons unless you are showing or are an actor.

There is a haunted village called Creepy Hallow Northwest every October and Northwest Reniassance Festival is unusually in July, they both have Facebook pages that can be checked for dates and times.

What is the price? And is there volunteer work available?

The price of admission, if I remember correctly, is $10 per person . In terms of volunteer work, I don't see why they wouldn't, but I am not entirely certain. Hope this helps.
