Been here and was seeing Dr Sparks for 3 years now. Dr is awesome in caring for his patients. Very accommodating, patient and empathetic when you’re in pain. His Duke/Kernodelle clinic staff are a joke! They don’t care about the patients concern, they’ll let you die in pain and care less. You call in to leave doctor a message to been seen, doctor responds to these messages in less than an hour but the staff will take 2-3 days to just call you to schedule an appointment. Every single time since 3 years! Forcing you to seek care from elsewhere. Doctor tried talking to the administration when I brought this to his attention but they don’t seem to care. Looks like no one at the administration cares and their amazing physicians will start losing clients because the administration lacks professionalism. SHAME!!

I wanted to update my review because I have since starting seeing several providers here and would like to detail my care: Dr. Fleming, pulmonologist: excellent bedside manner, knowledgeable and patient. He also has a great sense of humor! I just adore him as a person and provider. Go see this man and his lovely staff if you need a pulmonologist. Dr. Folwer, podiatrist: patient, conversant and does excellent work. I was embarrassed about my feet, which in all honestly, aren’t that bad, but I feel self conscious. He corrected my ingrown toenail and reassured me many times it was nothing to be embarrassed about. He and his staff genuinely care about their patients. I think podiatry is under appreciated, but it’s extremely meaningful work and I’m so grateful. Whitney Meeler NP, Pain management: Don’t let her youth fool you, she’s incredibly knowledgeable and I value her input. She’s so kind and patient too. She answered all my questions and is probably one of the best practitioners I’ve ever seen. Autumn Kontz PA, neurology: absolutely fantastic. She and Dr. Shah compliment each other so well and make a great team. Dr. O'Connell, Endocrinologist: charming man and knowledgeable healthcare provider. Keeps me alive by feeding me levothyroxine. Motivated to help me me lose prednisone weight. Explains things very well. Efficient and timely. I went to see Dr. Shah, neurologist, at the Kernodel Clinic, desperate for answers. I was dismissed by one doctor as “somatic” and felt depressed. I explored the idea that maybe I was having mental health issues, but my psychologist was adamant that it wasn’t the case. Anyway, a friend of mine referred me to Dr. Shah, she was a nurse of his. I’m so grateful to her. Dr. Shah found that I was hypothyroid and now that is getting better. I see Dr. O’Connell at the Kernodel Clinic for the Hashimoto’s that caused the hypothyroidism. I love him too and I love that my eyebrows have grown back!!! Not to mention that I’m starting to lose weight. Rheumatology: the office staff is lovely and so are the nurses, but I decided to “fire” my doctor. I was not pleased with the care I was receiving and now go to the Lupus Clinic at Duke. However, I refuse to let one bad apple ruin what otherwise has been an excellent experience.

The lady answering the phones named Patsy is a jerk. After she wouldn’t transfer me to the behavioral science department she hung up on me. Im a new patient here and her attitude should be documented. I called back and my call went unanswered, i then called back on my work phone and surprise surprise Patsy answers the phone lolol i asked for her name multiple times to make a complaint and she only gave it once i said i can either get her name over the phone to make a complaint or i can come in person to make the complaint. Terrible receptionist, terrible service

Call main # 336 538 1234 tell them what you are looking for and they will get you to the right department.
They have a physical therapy & internal medicine department. If they do or don't these would be the departments to call & ask if they do.
I am not sure I went across the street from hospital
I think pediatrics moved to the Elon Kernodle Clinic
I don't know if it's complete incompetence or simply do not care, but it's not entirely at this facility. DO NO HARM doesn't apply here.
