In case you were wondering, most "Indian" food served in a more "fast-food" format in the United States will shift a few degrees away from 100% authentic in some ways. The question is, does the customer base they are serving like or dislike the food as shown through patronage to the establishment. In this instance, the locals who have caught onto Curry & Grill LOVE THEIR FOOD. As one of those locals, I turn lots of others visiting the area onto this place since you'd be hard-pressed to see it from the road given their almost hidden location inside a liquor store. And everyone I've sent their loves it too. But if you see reviews citing that it is not 100% authentic Indian food, they are right...but note they did not say it isn't delicious, because it is! Go get some for yourself...

The best Indian food option in south lake. Be ready for take out, this is not a sit down restaurant. I highly recommend the lamb biryani, veggie korma, saag paneer, and any chicken entree. One of the few places in South Lake Tahoe to get some flavorful, spicy food & a great price

Who are all these people giving this place good reviews? What for? This is NOT Indian food guys. Take it from this Indian! I ordered Chicken Curry, and what I got is - ground onion boiled together with some turmeric and chicken! Really? That's what you're gonna give me for the money you charge? At least put some effort in it guys! I am beyond shocked that some people have no idea how flavorful Indian food can be. I guess I can't blame them. They probably don't know Indian food well enough. These so called restaurant owners in the US just open an Indian restaurant because they've made Chai one time in their life and now they think they're a chef. Total dishonor and disservice to the Indian food and culture! Wish I could give them ZERO stars.
