The listing agent works with sellers and tries to get them the highest/best price for the sale of their home. Buyer’s agents work with buyers to help them find their desired home based on their search criteria and negotiate the lowest/best price for that home.

No, buyers generally do not pay commission — it comes from the seller’s side when negotiating a contract. Agent’s work strictly on commission and thus only get paid after a sale is made and escrow is closed.
