We was at Irmo SCDMV today for my husband and I to change DL. He was also adding veteran to his and both of us getting the stars put on. Cayse D. Was so patient and sweet . she is outstanding the Irmo office is clean. Very friendly

They have 12 windows for people to work with only 3 employees working. Be prepared to wait. Don't expect too much...after all...it's run by the government.

You have to fill out the required forms as well as show proof of residency,(take one or two letters addressed with your name and the envelope it was sent in),passport, birth certificate, drivers license from the state you are coming from.

You can go to SCDMV's website, there is a link to appointments. You can walk-in, but they will take your name for a waiting list, and text you when you're next. Waits have been quite long lately, at all the sites. My daughter went today to Lexington, 2-hr wait, Ballentine had 30 on the list, they said the computer system had issues.

If it's a motorcycle permit, they require the rider to try and pass the driver's test to gain a full M class license. If you don't pass, they renew the permit.

That's normal. The title is what shows ownership. The bill of sale is what is used to verify that ownership to get the title.

If you want the Real ID bring a passport or your birth certificate and marriage license(s), SSN card and 2 proofs of address. If you want a non-federal ID bring yourself. Real ID you have to take a new picture.
