I was there today for the first time. The clerk at the counter did not greet me. I asked a question and she rudely mumbled, "Aha." Then, she must have realized that she came off unprofessional and said, "Yes." I was there a whole 5 minutes. She never asked how she could assist me. The used-clothes are overpriced. The reviews on this site describe the same rude mannerism I, too, experienced today at this shop. Never again.

If your thinking about selling clothing here do not! Try uptown, or style encore first!!! I think one star accurately sums up my experience here. I came in with many nice pieces and some lower brand ones. I totally understand not wanting to take the lower brand ones but some of the pieces that I brought in were worth good money. The three pieces that I did end up selling there were a pair of shoes that were retail about $60, an alter’d state dress that was about $60, and I didn’t even see the third piece. They gave me $11 and 52 cents for these three pieces and they were some of the most expensive pieces I was trying to sell. I feel ripped off because at another thrift store I could get $20 for just the shoes and the dress. Furthermore, when I first told them I was going to sell clothing they didn’t explain the process to me. They just made me sign some things and check in on my phone. They didn’t explain the pricing to me of what I was going to get back for different items. And they didn’t give me a receipt of sale. However they do have cheep pricing for the clothing they sell and it’s good if your on a tight budget.

called up there to see what clothes n such they accepted so i brought them up there n got told they didn’t accept youth sizes but i was looking at youth sized stuff b4 they told me that and most of all they claimed my clothes wasn’t wearable yet only a single pair of pants had any sort of damage so fu¢k this place i’ll never return to another plato’s

If I could give them a zero I would. First off, no one even said “hi how can I help you,” I just received a look and then saw 2 girls standing there at the computers. One said to another “are you gonna take them,” and the other responded “I can,” with attitude. Like okay?? No one wants our business? That’s cool. The girl says “I’ll take you over here, do you have an ID?” She says while not even looking at my dad and I, while typing. To which I respond “yes.” She then continues typing. And I slide my ID over to her, she takes it, types in my name/info, then tosses it across the counter…talk about unprofessional and zero respect. She also didn’t give me receipt, just my change/amount due for the 4 items they accepted. I thought it would be in the box they gave back but nope, no receipt at all. I’ve worked in customer service for years and can’t believe this type of attitude is what management accepts these days smh. Just when I thought it couldn’t get worse, I just got back home and went through the box of clothes they didn’t take, and everything is exactly in the same spot, meaning it hasn’t been touched at all. They didn’t even go through all 72 items I gave them. They literally touched 1/4 of the box. No wonder they only accepted 4 items. THEY DIDN'T EVEN LOOK. I will be counting my items to see if they truly did take 4 items from my box, as I did my own inventory at home before handing it over. She didn’t even show me the items they took. She just said “so here’s your change, sign here, have a good one”. This is the second time I’ve been to this location and will most definitely be my last. Plato’s Closet, DO BETTER. Stop hiring just anyone. Also you guys resell for higher prices anyways. I’d rather donate to Goodwill knowing someone in need actually got some decent clothing for a great price!!
