The staff at Brookdale was able to reach my daughter, who had been trapped in a cycle of drug abuse. A special shout out to Andrew for taking her under his wing and Phil for having only her best interests at heart. These people do care about your loved one, believe me. We had experience with other rehab facilities and Brookdale is by far the best.

MY GIRLFRIENDS EXPERIENCE HERE: 1 MONTH LONG NIGHTMARE.. "The photos of the facility are decieving, theres NO swan boat to ride there... One girl was given incorrect medication and was not supervised and walked across the pool liner nearly falling through. While we were all sitting ON the dock by the water, half the dock broke and fell into the water--Luckily no one was injured or killed. Over the whole course of being there for one month they denied me my right to call 2 of my loved ones.. "i think you should focus on yourself" they said, and asked me WHY I want to call a FAMILY MEMBER... asked me WHY my mom wont allow my BF at home while im away, and made the assumption "well its probably because hes a bad influence" WOW!!! YOU DONT KNOW ME OR MY LIFE, LET ALONE MY LOVED ONES, to which you just INSULTED... There's no radio or news channel there so I didn't know what was even happening in the world... You're not allowed to speak to the opposite gender under any circumstance, but affection is totally acceptable if it's the same gender apparently. And they take advantage of everything they can to bill your insurance even for things you don't need. They take advantage of anything they can especially if they have leverage over you..(like being mandated by court to be there).. Lack of communication between employees. No one can give me a straight answer and always redirects me to another staff member.... Pastor Bob is homophobic... some of the nurses have NO clue what they're doing; someone had a siezure in the café, and another patient assisted them safely to the floor and held their head up while he was siezing-- The nurse came running over and did what!!??? NOTHING!!!! STOOD THERE AND WATCHED.. The staff belittles you and intimidates you over anything, everything and nothing... wouldn't allow me to use my tampons I brought because "the box wasn't sealed" and, well, do you think I had a good experience with the faculty?????? AVOID THIS FACILITY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.... people pay A LOT of money to go here, AND FOR WHAT. These people do NOT care about your recovery AT ALL, and the counselors don't even help you; I received more help/comfort from the women community... The incompetence, lack of compassion, and will to bill my insurance for treatments I don't want or need was unprecedented by this staff. Lawsuit waiting to happen here."

this place was supposed to be the best. I'm some ways it is. the patient care technicians we're amazing most of all a PCT named Jen. she took time to listen and cared. The MD and the nurses were also amazing. My counselor Sarah and my case manager Taylor were the two that fought for me. I owe you both the deepest amount of gratitude. I came and got medically detoxed which was amazing. But when I wanted to start the program that's where I hit a wall. they say that they are about recovery and in some ways they are but they are more about making money. my job fell through and my insurance lapsed for a day and first thing they did is told me I couldn't stay any longer. unless I paid. the facility is beautiful and the good is great. the problem I had was that in the detox wing there is nothing to do. they have one magazine from 1980's and checker and chess. the problem with that is that when an addict is clean and doesn't have any mental stimuli our brains wander and we get antsy. they only allow the detox patients to watch two hours of tv a day. one hour increments. people in detox need more mental stimuli or a way to zone out to a movie or show. I had to threaten to leave to be able to move to a cabin, then I had some medical issues arise at home and was only allowed one ten minute phone call. I didn't even get my phone pass till day seven. and I had to threaten to walk out to get it. if you have lots of money and great insurance you will be good. if you aren't well off in the financial aspect it will be a bumpy ride. management gets the three stars. the staff gets five stars.
