I've bee in hold almost an hour yesterday and last week and the phone disconnected both times after waiting. They are so hard to contact in Decatur, Alabama. Has anyone been able to call? Is this normal? I finally got through and talked to a nasty representatives name Ms. Smith. All I want to do is make an appointment to come in. With all the fraud going on she asked for Social Security number, Mother's and Father's name address and several other questions. I told her I did not feel comfortable with all the personal question just to make an appointment. I will be happy to show proof of everything at the appointment due to so much fraud and she said that's fine you can come in but you need to make and appointment. That makes no since.

I went to the Decatur office today and I could not believe how nice and helpful the lady was who helped me. She was polite and kind and made my day! She answered all my questions and helped clear up a little problem. Thank you!

You need to contact them with the information and they will assist you with your situation.
Go to the social security office and request it. Also, can visit social security.gov
I was told you can make up to 1000.00 a month and it won't affect your check. Unless you're over 62 years old. At 65 you can work all you want and it won't affect it at all...
Their birth certificate and proof from the hospital depending on how old they are
No,, it should not be affected by the shutdown. Unless things change.
Yes, they do.
Contact the office or go online @ social security.gov. and set up your account.
I think that it is benefits.gov.
Yes, you do.
I don't understand the question, if there is a question. If you're talking about a social security card no I do not believe they will. It's simple all you have to do is go in not so few Keys sit down and wait for them to call you and it shouldn't take very long
I need to get my sister law a social security card her name is Alice Messer
