Nice boat rentals and services, very helpful staff made our first trip to okeechobee a great one. Rented a pontoon boat that was clean. Fishing bait and other stuff was also available at the store inside.

Don't worry about the alligators. I have swam and water skied in the lake and rim canal my whole life. Just be mindful of mating season and don't do anything stupid like bother them and you will be fine. Just be careful. Like the ocean, winds and storms can develop quickly and that is your greatest threat.
