Great place to visit, I do a trail run here daily or every other day to work on the fitness, baby,lol...6.5 miles average, so peaceful and beautiful...just be careful and mindful of momma bear and her cubs.

Easy to mild hiking trails. Well identified trails. A favorite spot!

In the morning fog in autumn, Trout Pond of the McLean Game Refuge is a special place.

Love to sit back and eat my lunch here.

No outhouses I know of. Plenty of places to picnic; meadows, woods, streamside. Beauty place with majestic pines
I'll guess your best bet is the Pine Cone Trail, because it "officially" is a dead-end trail, but in reality, connects to Holcomb Farm and Enders Falls trails. Also note that horseback riding at McLean's ends on Nov 30, so that should lessen traffic throughout.
I've walked all the trails, they are not all stroller friendly, unless it's one of the big wheel jogging style. It's no swimming, but as mentioned earlier Salmon Brook Park has plenty of swimming holes right in the brook
