Shields MRI at Wellesley

The technician (a 50-ish guy) was terrific-- excellent patient care and had a great sense of humor. I also appreciated that they got me in quickly for my MRI. But (1) the clerk gave me a receipt for the wrong patient (so I called the 800 # for Shields because you can't reach the Wellesley location directly; they said they'd get Wellesley to send a receipt but never did); (2) billed me the wrong amount (they estimated what my insurance would charge and insisted I pay all of that up front unlike most places that will bill you once the EOB is issued; they were wrong on the amount, so now I have to chase down the partial refund). (3) they have no email address or patient portal on their website so it's a laborious process to get any followup.

I had an appointment for MRI at 5 PM at this facility. I received a reminder for my 5 PM appointment. I was at the facility at 4:54 and they didn’t accept to visit me. They said I had to be there 20 minutes ahead of the appointment, although it was not mentioned anywhere in their reminder or in their voicemails! I told them why you didn’t mention that in your voicemails and their answer was it’s against our HEPA policy to have info about your appointment!! How on the earth I should have known I had to be there 20 mins ahead of time! No respect for your time! I cut down my work and drove ~ 9 miles for nothing!

Staff is attentive, friendly and competent. Waiting room is open, clean and has free WiFi. Parking lot is the drawback. Narrow spaces are fine for cars but with all the SUVs, it gets tight quickly.
