Public offices are notoriously difficult to navigate. The Monticello DMV has refined streamlined, quality service to an art form. From the online helps to ensure coming to the appointment with all of the requisite documentation to service delivery, this office nails it. I got in, was served, and got out *before* my scheduled appointment time and everyone I dealt with was unfailingly helpful and courteous.

I’ve never had such a nice experience at a DMV before. They are so patient and NICE. Something not found at other DMVs…usually the DMV employs rude, mean, lazy people. Not here. Felt comfortable and at ease and they showed respect and treated you as a person. Thank you for being so HUMAN. 🙏😊
The Monticello DMV appears to have every form regarding vehicle, boat, or trailer etc.. Check it out. The young lady that works the DMV information desk is extremely helpful.
Need to cancel appointment made. None of the phone numbers, even though they claim to be able to get a representative, get to anyone but gives another number that does not reach anyone either. This stinks!!!

I believe you can cancel your appoint within the email online. Had to cancel my appointment once and it worked out.

I scheduled my son's permit test via the NYSDMV website. Once you've done that they will email you to confirm and remind you of the appointment and to explain what is needed. Also...The Monticello DMV location is currently closed for two weeks as of 12/14/2020 due to an employee testing positive for COVID-19.
I have an appointment to renew my license, but I don't have my updated personal address on my license for my primary residence in Sullivan. I wrote the address on the back, and will have a copy of my mortgage payment. Is this enough?

Insurance card, completed MV82, your ID. Proof of ownership also makes it easier but not a necessity.
Is a form needed when surrendering license plates from a sold vehicle? If so, can I download it? Can plates be surrendered when the mobile unit is in Narrowsburg, or is it necessary to go into the Monticello office?
