I've been a tenant @ RVCHA since it's inception in the mid/late sixties-- A LOT of people in the area ALWAYS seem to have something negative to say because it's 'public housing' in the pristine town of Rockville Centre-- But you couldn't find a better community! Yes... Things have changed in the '50-some' years I've lived there. However, it's still one of THE SAFEST areas around (no matter what others that DO NOT live there say). I'm NOT thrilled that Section 8 has come into the confines (as it hasn't helped me a great deal with paying my monthly responsibilities--) However, my one bedroom would go for thousands of dollars more in the area-- and wouldn't be attainable in Brooklyn or Manhattan--

There are varying aspects for each family, including the size and/or number of people in your family, gross income (which plays a BIG part)--even if someone has been convicted of a crime. Yet it is best to check with the Department of Housing in your area, as well as the guiddlines of the dwelling placd you hope to move into...
