I went to Helping the Homeless Inc today, March 22, 2022, and dropped off some food and clothing for the resident, approximately at 2:30 pm. I was met at the door by a staff member named Andre Jarrell. I told him, “I came to drop off food and may you please get someone to help me bring the groceries inside the house because I had a carload”. He sent three people to help me. When the three gentlemen and one lady brought the three loads of food inside. The young lady came back out and told me that Andre said, “he only has room for one box of food and brings no more”. Andre came out and spoke to me in a rude and unappreciative manner. Saying, with a dismissive attitude, that he needs no more food. So, I put the food back in my car. I told the young resident. “I need to go inside the house and get my recycling bags where the groceries were in and tell him to bring the clothing inside”. I told Andre that the manager, Mr. Jones, knows okay with me dropping off the food and clothing. He told me, “Well Mr. Jones is not here, I am here”. When I went back into the Helping the Homeless Inc building, Andre's behavior towards me was obnoxious. He asked me in an abrupt manner, what do I want? I responded to him that " I came in to get my bags". He told me in an abrasive and arrogant way to "take the clothes back because we do not need them". I asked the young resident to help me bring the clothes back to my car. As the gentleman picked up the bag Andre said, "keep it there". The resident treated me with respect and thanked me for the food and clothing. The resident told me they appreciated the food I donated to them. Unlike Ander, he did not thank me for the items I gave to the unfortunate resident who does not have the luxury of living like him. I spoke to him in a respectful manner and he did not reciprocate to me in the same cordial manner. I felt so humiliated and hurt by how Helping the Homeless Inc staff Andre had spoken to me. Andre did not display any professionalism at all. Helping the Homeless Inc needs to implement interpersonal and intrapersonal training. I spend my money to buy food for the homeless resident and donate food that was supplied to the misfortunes. Who gives Andre the right to deprive people who need food? I feel I was doing a good honorable deed to give back to people who cannot do for themselves in this Coronavirus, Delta, and Omicron pandemic. There are many people who lose their jobs, homes, and apartments that need help. Andre needs to learn work communication etiquette and how to speak to a woman. I have donated to Helping the Homeless Inc since November 2021 Thanksgiving. I am always embraced and welcomed by Jones, Sabrina, and the other staff with gratitude. They always appreciate me donating the food to 'Helping the Homeless Inc' residents. Andre acts like he was a jail warden or on his menstruations’. His condescending behavior was uncalled for and incentive. If he continues to conduct business egregiously toward people like me who have a good heart, they are going to stop donating to Helping the Homeless Inc. The corporation needs to train its staff in business communication skills because it reflects that business. I figure the more food gets donated to the homeless shelter, the less money the company has to spend. I was told by the weekend staff that they always can use the donated food because it can go to the new resident who is waiting for their welfare benefits. The weekend staff is so sweet and respectful. Mr. Jones has been very respectful and grateful for my contribution. Andre needs to be ashamed of himself. There are too many people who are starving and cloth less around the world and not knowing where their next meal will be and here, he is turning away a blessing for the homeless resident. Andre better hope he will never be a resident at the homeless shelter and someone tells him he does not need food or clothing. The business name says, "Helping the Homeless" not to turn down help for the homeless.

They get one star for providing the bare necessities of lodging... But the system which runs the house is prison like!!! The 2 men running this place treat me like a prisoner...and not like a working-class man!!! And, only few (like 3 out of about 12) Staff members here are Customer Service Conscious!!! Nothing but drama and childish bickering goes on here!!! Not advisable, if, you can find elsewhere to live!!!
