The production of the car is not here, it is a factory.

I walk thru the Chrysler Building on my way, usually after getting off the subway. I love that building. It has so much history. Inside the fixtures are beautiful. I've heard the building is sold out being sold. I like to take pictures of things inside.
Chrysler saw an opportunity for the area to grow substantially, but mainly he wanted the building to be a personal monument to himself. The Chrysler Building was designed by architect William Van Alen but pushed to become the tallest building in the world by financier and industrialist Walter P. Chrysler.
The Chrysler Building. It is beautiful. It is iconic. Love is constantly in motion within human beings. Meaning different things to different people. It is in the moment real. Outside it, a dream. In a building like the Chysler love is static.
As far as I know, it is an office building with no private residences. It once had a penthouse that belonged to Walter P. Chrysler. You can Google the history of the building. It is fascinating. A few of the top floors once had a private social club with just 300 members. It is interesting. Look it up.

What were some of the challenges involved in building it?
It's one of the classic New York skyscrapers, built in the era when the city was coming into its own. It's probably the most famous skyscraper in New York, after the Empire State Building, and features a distinctive and instantly recognizable top.

Built by the owner of the Chrysler Company, Walter Chrysler. Housed the headquarters there for over 20 years. Had a automobile showroom on the first 2 floors for awhile. Has gargoyles that are designed after the hood ornaments on the Plymouth, which was built by Chrysler. And the steel at the top was manufactured in the same way that the steel used to build Chrysler cars were manufactured.
He decided to enter the “Tallest Building in the World” race and commissioned architect William Van Alen to draft something. 2. It's called the Chrysler Building not after the business, really, but after the man,Walter Chrysler.May 27, 2011
