I am very appreciative of Labor Unions, but it is true that someone representing an organization can ruin their reputation. Such is the case for Sean Higgins, of Somerville. He has been using social media to network with women across New England. He seems like an angry man, and not someone you want associated with the Teamsters. One woman was having problems, depression over losing a loved one. He told her to cry a river, that she was fat and should worry about crying less and eating less. Yesterday, he took the time to publicly shame another beautiful lady, calling her Fatty and other shameful things. He also got called out in a FB group created to name and shame men who literally go out of their way to insult women. What if his comments caused the woman who lost her loved one, to do something to herself? That would be on him, and your organization as well from his Facebook profile having Teamsters 25 as the FIRST thing people see when looking at his info. Fire him. Hold him accountable. Because, sad to say, I now think less of your organization as a result. I know ALOT of professionals around Boston, and people in trades. People who are part of unions. None of them would do things like this, on social media, because it would affect their jobs. Overlooking this will be a slap in the face to the women (if its just been a couple in the last week or so, imagine how many he has been cruel to before that) everywhere. Thank you for your time.
