Very nice Public Library in Schenectady County. Excellent Staff to help you out. I haven't been there in about 10years and am very impressed. I will certainly be going in back and very shortly.

Very clean and quiet. The staff is very friendly and helpful

The library is open if you request an item on your library account. They will call you to schedule curbside pickup.
The drop box is open!
I do believe the Schenectady County Public Library. If they do not have them they should be able to direct you. Also I would try the Schenectady County Health Department on Nott Terrace, 2Blocks up from Library.
I'm not sure if the first time answer is intended for the NYS library and archives or not but it doesn't hold true to SCPL. On the bottom left of their website is a link to current openings. They have positions for for student workers to janitors to librarians. There are also volunteer opportunities.
Hi Destiny: we've been open for in-person use since March 22nd. Check out our website at www.scpl.org for hours of operation at all of our locations.
Go to library website. www.scpl.org . On left go to either Hoopla or Overdrive. Follow prompts from there. You will need your library account number and your account must be in good standing.
No one is allowed inside the library except staff.
8pm weekdays when they open
Yes, they have classes available!
There is a good sized parking lot on the back side of the library if you're coming from State st. Across the street from the post office loading docks.
Yes, lots of it.
Hi Francesca, thanks for thinking of us. Here are the full details of what our Friends of SCPL are looking for in donations. https://friendsofscpl.org/donations/
September 28-29, 2019
You can renew online from any connected device. https://pac.sals.edu/polaris/logon.aspx?src=http%3a%2f%2fpac.sals.edu%2fpolaris%2fpatronaccount%2fdefault.aspx%3fctx%3d1.1033.0.0.1&ctx=1.1033.0.0.1
All 9 SCPL locations are closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
Hi Jodie, all 9 public libraries in this county are a branch of the Schenectady County Public Library so you can get a card at any of our 9 locations. Bring a government issued photo ID and proof of residency (address on Driver's License, lease, mailed bill or bank statement, etc) and we would love to get you a library card.
Paula, please call your local SCPL branch to verify
Hi Dee, you can bring a picture ID into any branch and replace your card for $2. We encourage you to at the very least stop by a branch to report your card as missing. You would still be liable for any charges on your account if someone picked it up and used it unless you report it missing. We would hate to see that happen so please come see us soon :)
No
We do not, if you dial the United Way's 211 number on your phone you can get listings of local organizations that do and can make an appointment at the same time.
The Book Express category is the section of very new books that can only be checked out for 7 days at a time. I dont believe that Book Express books are available for renewal, and the late fees for these books are $1 a day.
Hello, Mariann! Your password is the last 4 digits of your phone number. If it doesn't work, or if you've changed your phone number, call the main library and hit 5 for the circulation desk or stop by any library to have it fixed.
We sure do!
