The front desk receptionist was very kind as well as the provider I saw however I felt as if the level of care was lacking. I came in to be seen for nasal and chest congestion as well as cough. I was advised that they would not be able to provide a rapid covid test because they were closing soon but they could have my pcr results within 2 to 4 business days. I informed them I was from out of town and would only be in NY for another day before traveling to PA and would not be returning home to SC to see my pcp for another 10 days. I was given a pcr test and told to buy flonase for my nasal congestion as they could not provde me with any further treatment until my covid test came back. I left immediately and purchased 2 at home test that provided immediate negative results. I could and should have easily done this prior however, I was hoping to seek treatment. I ended seeing my primary care provider upon my return home where I had to receive a steriod and antibiotic injection along with other medications to treat the pneumonia I developed. I understand the need to diagnose for covid however I feel as if they could have provided me something to treat my current symptoms and potentially prevented my illness from progressing. If nothing ele I wish they would have told me to come back the next day so that they could provide me with a rapid test and treatment same day. Basically I paid my $70 urgent care copay for nothing.

I really would like to give it ZERO stars, but that's not an option. Absolutely the WORSE urgent care in the entire area!

i had no choice but to come here a few weeks ago because all of the WellNow’s were closed for the night. i came in with typical cold symptoms, but my main complaints were hearing loss, sinus pressure, and neck swelling. i made it very clear to the receptionist that i had already had T W O covid tests done that morning so i knew i was not covid positive. i sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes before i got called in. before i saw the PA, a nurse took my vitals and informed me that i had a low grade fever and elevated blood pressure. i finally see the PA and she insists on doing a rapid covid test despite me insisting i was negative since i had tested twice that morning. she does the test and guess what? this may come as a shocker, but i was negative covid. ends up diagnosing me with “nasal congestion” (??) and sends me home with a list of otc medications to buy. a few days later, the pain i was in was UNBEARABLE, to the point where i was awake, crying, contemplating going to the hospital at 2am. i ended up seeing another doctor where i was PROPERLY diagnosed - i had a severe ear infection, swollen lymph nodes, and pharyngitis! i was put on strong antibiotics to clear up the infection and relieve pain. god only knows what could have happened had i not gotten a second opinion. i cannot verbally explain how much i HATE going to any albany med urgent care because you’re always wrongly treated and pay astronomical fees for n o t h i n g. do yourself a favor and go to WellNow down the road where you’ll be taken care of properly in 1/4 the time for 1/4 the price.
