Beautiful campground near a great river to float upon. Sites are spaced nicely and clean. I've been camping here for 35 years and never had problems till about 5 years ago. Host is terrible. People come to these sites to be left alone and these host pester everyone. They have the sheriff run through every night for whatever reason. Have been harassed about fire past 10, money not paid(I've always set up and walked to put payment in iron ranger after)been questioned about what other campers are doing? And been denied buying firewood. I've stopped camping here and was willing to give it a try this year after hearing there was a new host. But had some friends go up last weekend and had an awful experience π will try again in another 5 years I guess

good camping spot. clean bathrooms. quiet place, nice space between sites, felt private. nice little beach area right on the river. similar to a recent review, we had a host come around in the morning who was questioning if we had paid. we had, and although the person wasn't pushy by any means, we were actually on our way out at that time, and i wonder if it would have become an issue if we had stayed and the host wasn't able to locate our payment... Maybe they are having issues with collecting payments with the increase in people getting outdoors due to covid and using this campsite more frequently than it has been used in the past? But if it's such an issue, they should probably make a change in the procedure for making payments.....If you are consistently harassing people who are actually good actors....Not a good way to do business. That wasn't my experience, but based on the other reviewer, if the host hadn't been able to locate our payment, we would have probably faced that person's wrath, too.

This is a very nice and convienantly located campground. Many hiking trails nearby and attractions. Campground is pretty much right in the middle of the Kangamangus hwy, next to Bear Notch Rd. Campground has nice different size sites, some β¦

I loved this campground! We drove in, found a spot, put deposited money in an envelope at the main entrance, and set up camp. There were plenty of clean restrooms, and I loved that the campground was a short walk away from the river, and so β¦

Hi Brett Typically I go up in n a Wed or Thurs and stay through the weekend around July 11th. Have always gotten a spot:)
Absolutely. I go every year on a thursday
No, and there is no cell service either on most of the Kanc
Theres no service until almost getting into Conway. About halfway down Passaconaway rd, it kicks in. About a 15-20 min drive from the campground.
Yes
The Forest Service website says Jigger is open through "mid-October". I'm guessing that means through Columbus Day weekend.
Jigger Johnson is not a reservable campground. All sites are first-come first-served. Your best bet is to arrive between the hours of 8 AM - 11 AM when other campers are packing up and leaving.
Reservations are not accepted. It's first come, first serve. $25/night.
It's all paved...
Jigger Johnson Campground is actually on old Russel Colebath land. But I think Jigger Johnson's land is up Bear Notch Road nearby the campground named for him. I know there are several cabins along that road being rented.
Fire pits. Dogs leashed. First come first serve no reservations
Exactly as previously stated. Get in really early and its doable.
Aside from that it's good forestry maintenance. Sustained managed forestry keeps our land healthy.
Yes they r still there on occasion. Saw one this past summer
Try calling the visitor center in Lincoln. Someone might be able to look at the sign outside ...maybe?
When you get off Exit 32 there will be a ranger station board which will tell you if there is vacancy
Yes, they have to be leashed when walking, at the beach, and at the campsites. You have to pick up after them too. Usually rules
Hard to get a spot. Early Thursday morning is better
People come in and leave on any given day, but a lot leave Sundays. It is $24 a night. Flush toilets and showers that cost $2.50
There is a few paths that lead to the river. Depending on the rain and what not it can be waist deep. If not there are swimming holes along the kank and off of bear notch rd
24 dollars a night
Some of the sites are fairly big and could accommodate a 40' trailer. The limitation would be the road and space to back it in. Its an old campgroud and it wasnt really designed for vehicles that big, but if your good at backing it in it could be doable in the some of the sites.
No they do not
Around October 15th and opens around Memorial weekend
No
