Very organized friendly staff that you could automatically tell they care for their animals and the animals are well taken care of

While I almost never write a negative review, it behooves me to do so to caution others who may think about visiting the Lancaster SPCA to help an animal. Unfortunately, the staff failed at communicating unreasonable, arbitrary rules to our family after we invested three hours of our day waiting to meet and potentially adopt a dog. Two members of our family were not able to accompany us, as they had mandatory school activities and work. The staff member flippantly turned us away without any discussion. We attempted speaking to another staff member but were simply told, “Too bad you feel this way.” We attempted to explain that emotions are not a factor, but there was no interest in our efforts and attempts. I do not know what other unreasonable rules are in place, therefore you may want to be flexible in choosing venues in your effort to help an animal.

You’d need to contact our cruelty department for an update.
I have a rottweiler that I cannot keep...my daughter moved and couldn't take him, and I cannot keep him here at my apartment
Mary Smith. I have a chihuahua yorkie mix that has to go. We had gotten him from a friend of my daughters until they moved but they never came back for him. I'm moving and they don't allow pets. I'm looking for a good home for him. My daughter is heartbroken and we would like for him to go to a good home.
If you have found a stray dog please contact your local police for assistance.
You'd have to look on their website Was only there to have my cat nueutered
Looking for kitten 🐱 any info
Might call them. They might charge you $75 a piece to take them. I have 3 strays that a neighbor threw out when they moved ! Police will do nothing! There is a pet pantry that takes some in. In Columbia there is a cat rescue. Cannot remember the name , sorry ! But cats are crazy right now ! Lol
Unfortunately we do not at this location.
We sometimes have smaller animals at our PSPCA headquarters in Philadelphia. Right now we have bunnies available for adoption there!
Heather, I would suggest you take the kittens to the Pet Pantry on Norristown Road at the corner of Columbia avenue. They may be full but it's worth a shot. Good luck.
Hi! You can find information about our spay/neuter here - https://www.pspca.org/lancaster
I believe it's somewhere between $50 to $500 depending on insurance coverage.
To check on the status of a cruelty report, please contact the cruelty hotline listed below. 866-601-7722. Or visit the website https://www.pspca.org/fight-cruelty Thank you for your vigilance and helping us help animals in need.
As we are not a boarding facility, we do not provide boarding services. Your friend should reach out to a boarding kennel such as Gochenauer Kennels Inc.
Our shelter is open for meet and greets with dogs every day from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM. Please feel free to come down to the shelter and we will work to match you with a great new furry family member.
There is no organization that picks up stray/feral cats. Due to the limited kennel space, we are at capacity and not able to accept any cats at this time. We suggest reaching out to other local organizations for assistance.
If you would like to file a cruelty complaint, please contact our cruelty hotline and thank you for your observance https://www.pspca.org/cruelty
We offer dog and cat sheltering only.
Yes, we'd be happy to take any unopened bags of dog food. Please feel free to drop them off at our contactless donation station at the front of the shelter any day of the week from 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Thank you!
Email th lancaster spca
We did a.d found them very accommodating
Yes they do. Not sure exactly how much it costs though.
Check their website and they have the dogs that are ready for adoption. Last time I looked they didn't have puppies there.
Sorry, I don't have an answer for you. Try calling there, ask for Lindsay.
I think you are under the impression that you'll get an answer directly from someone working at the SPCA. Any answer you get here is just from a regular person that's a trusted google guide. You may want to call them directly
Not at this time. The animals change frequently so feel free to call or stop in. Lots of nice dogs and cats.
If the cat is injured, please call the pet pantry. They will do what they can.
Jennifer, stop in. They let you look at a portfolio of adoptable dogs and can bring out any one you want to see. They have a nice selection, I volunteer and walk many of them on weekends. Good luck
It's best to call them. Everyone is very nice there.
yes they do
I don't know, give then a call
If they have.
I thought in philadelphia ? Call lancaster office they might tell you ?
I don't have pets but I'm not sure and I'm not sure sorry
There is a fee for any and all animals you surrender. $50 I believe. Human league helps you and works with you. You would just have to make an appointment.
The cost vaccinations are the cost. So depending on the vaccinations depends on the cost. The cost can range per vaccination so if you get two vaccines it's two times the cost. Btw, u can only adopt a dog at the SPCA. It's not a veterinarian.
We only offer dog and cat sheltering services.
Do u have any toy dogs under 25 lbs
Yes, I think so but you need pay a little fee
I believe you need to be 18 or older but I could be wrong, best to just call in the and ask.
I have 2 Chihuahua that need a home. I don't want to get rid of them but we can't keep them. We're only allowed to keep 2 dogs but we have 4. So 2 need a home...
Pspca intake day is Wednesday...I believe you need to make an appointment. Give them a call....hours are 12-6 Monday thru Saturday
(717) 917-6979
Lil Frank was adopted. We still have Omar and Bam Bam though!
The sterilization surgery for cats is $ 115.
The adoption fee would be $300
You can Surrender him to the SPCA or any Animal shelter near you, I'm sure they'd all be willing to help the dog find a good forever home.
Nothing there is free!
I'm sure you would have to call first
Hello, We do have one starting in the next few weeks. Please call us on next Wednesday to confirm if we're taking appointments. Thank you!
Call the shelter and ask
You have to be 18
I suggest you go in and speak to a staff member
At this time we do not accept feral cats. We will be offering a TNR program in the future.
I have litter cat girl for free
Good luck with that. They will want you to pay for it.
Im thinking yes. But not sure i know they are jerks i found a cat and wanted to him in so he could have warmth they wanted me to pay 75 to bring it in and it wasnt even my cat.
