I have been bringing my boy Hazel here for the past 6 years and they never disappoint. I have been to almost all the other pet ERs in the area and nothing compares to Blue Pearl (formerly VSEC). They are the most competent and the most professional, best price, and super caring staff. I call them my boy's second family, because they care about him like he's family (and also because he's there a lot). They always take good care of him. They're really good at making both of us comfortable and they communicate everything clearly, too. I've never trusted anyone with him like I trust them. I live literally next door to a different pet ER, but I would still make the trek to Blue Pearl.

We brought our dog here after she got injured and she got the best care she ever has at a vet, hands down. They made us feel like she was in good hands from start to finish and kept us up to date while she was in surgery. Thank you guys for taking the best care of Penny!!

The staff here is so, so sweet. We ended up having to leave our 13 year old Shihtzu here over night for monitoring and fluids and let’s just say I was of course a mess at the thought of her being in a strange place for the night while not feeling well. The staff assured me that she would be well taken care of and I could see in the way they treated us as her emotional parents and our sweet girl that was true. I felt less guilty leaving her knowing the staff was so friendly and caring. Thank you Blue Pearl South Philly for taking care of our baby 🐶

I do not usually write bad reviews, but the experience that I recently had could potentially be harmful to another persons pet. I have bottle fed many kittens every summer for years. Whenever someone finds a kitten that needs help, I get a phone call. I am NOT a vet but I have taken care of many kittens in my day. Usually, when I take in a bottle feeder, it takes them a few days to have a bowl movement. (with assistance) I was not overly concerned, but we were on day 3, and no poo, so as a precaution, I brought them in. The Vet informed me that they were 3 weeks old. I told her that they were 2 weeks old . She told me again, that they were 3 weeks old, then I told her AGAIN that they were 2 weeks old , (as I witnessed their birth and have time stamped photos) , she shook her head and told me I was wrong, it was not getting through, as she was the authority. She told me that I did NOT need to bottle feed them or help them to go to the bathroom, that they were ready for soft food and could go to the bathroom on their own. None of which was true. The most definitely needed help going to the bathroom and needed to be bottle fed.(When I went home, I did try to give them some soft food mixed with their milk- maybe she had taught me something new, but that was NOT happening-as expected-they were 2 weeks old) She then handed me literature that said "Kittens under the age of one month will need help going to the bathroom " she clearly has not read that far in the booklet she gave me , or is not aware that a month has 4 weeks . If I did not have prior experience with young kittens , I may have listened to her and the kittens would have suffered. I will say that Pearl was kind enough to not charge me , I am thankful for that, they did not have to do that as I was ready to pay for their time. But was incredibly frustrated as I left. 1 week later I am still bottle feeding and assisting with potty time. Kittens are doing well. But I am hesitant to bring my pet in a real emergency after my recent experience.

$125 for the visit, but depending on what you need there can be extra fees. But still very reasonable compared to an emergency room visit.
I would take the one that's no eating as much to see what's going on, and let them know about the other two.
Just go to like it
Hi! I just found out my cat need full teeth extraction due to severe stomatitis. I'm looking around to find prices for this procedure. Did you get the procedure done and how much? And where? Update: I went to Delaware Veterinarian Hospital. It took 2 procedures one left side and one right side. Cost about $1,300. There were 3 follow up visits too because his swelling didn't go down quite as quick (that's how severe). It made a huge improvement. He's out from hiding in the closet and playful!
I would take her
I would take him back or at least call and talk to a vet. That is not normal for a standard vet appointment; something else may be going on with your dog.
Yes they charge but they might have a payment plan or emergency fund. Cheaper than Penn
Hoping your furry family member is well. My advice if you can wait take them to a vet much cheaper and this place is a rip off with rude staff and zero results. Frankford Vet is awesome good luck
You need to take him to a vetenarian. Don't wait too late
Yes, they offer financing
Yes they do provide you with payment options. Hope your cat feels better.
VSEC is open 24hrs a day.
You can try to get kitten replacement milk from the pet store and bottle feed yourself. You will need to keep them warm and wipe their bottoms with a moist Q-tip after they eat, because they can't relieve themselves without stimulation. You can find thorough instructions online.
Street only. And there usually plenty parking available. There is always someone outside the emergency vet location.
Think they're open 24 hours a day
The rashes and sores are usually an allergy. A reg vet can prescribe effective medication quickly. No need for your pup to suffer. See a regular vet.
You may want to call them and ask.
Please bring in your furbaby. They will help him and you won't need to worry.
Call your regular vet. Also: People that keep asking questions about their animals, CALL your vet or VSEC! They will tell you whether or not it is something that is an emergency. DO NOT ask health questions on Google!
Great place to take your dog for care and services. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.
Not as far as I know, this is an emergency hospital, with triage and excellent facilities. If you are asking about putting your pet down, call Lap of Love and they will come to your house for that. They are fantastic people
Infection, get him chk'd out soon. My cat died, he was the same way..
Just go to the vet
I'd, at the very least, give the vet a call. I'm fairly confident that they would give your call the attention it deserves and offer an honest and professional opinion as to what you should do.
You should take it for treatment hiding could be your cat is in some pain or discomfort
I'd suggest taking them to the vet to see what's going on.
I would check it and see if there's anything would metal or something in it and then didn't feel it she was swollen and and let the dog rest it might have just been a sprain or something in between pause
Xit shouldn't cost that much but it is an animal er so you never know
VESEC is excellent and prices are reasonable for their services.
VSEC is an animal hospital, but they may be able to suggest places to take the kitten. Give them a call
There are vet services that will come to your home. Google one local to you
They are for emergencies only believe me you do not want to go there 4 vaccinations you should best go to your vet because they will charge you 5 X's the normal amount it's ridiculous
It’s $110 to see the vet, all other services are additional $$$.
Vet, first, it will dave you money. Emergency rooms ate for life threatening thongs because of high cost.
No one can tell you what you should do but i highly recommend this place if you so choose to treat your dog for any reason.
I don’t think their primary practice is routine care- it’s more for emergencies and special needs.
When one of mine was admitted with Pancretitis, I had to pay the new balance each morning to continue care. It’s a business and there’s a lot of deadbeats out there! I don’t work for free either!
It's never normal when dogs have seizures. Go get him checked out ASAP! That places is awesome! It could be something as minor as an allergic reaction to the diet/food you're feeding him.
Yes go for it
Is she spayed? If not at that age she could be in heat.
Watch and see if he's scratching
