Sad to see our favorite camping areas burned out! Hopefully it's open for next year!

The best camp host, Darlene and the husband. Bathrooms and showers are regularly clean. Very popular campgrounds and many repeat customers so its always full!

This place is pretty awesome. We drove up with our kids for Father's day to camp and met with the host at the front. She was extremely nice and welcoming. Told us to pick a spot that wasn't reserved so we drove around. They have what they call "double" sites. They are much larger and as described cost double the amount of a regular site. We happened to see about 5 deer near one campsite so we pulled up to it and chose that spot. We paid and set up and about two hours later we were informed that we accidentally took a reserved spot but because there was no sign posted that she really wanted to work with us and let us stay in hopes that the person who reserved the spot would be fine moving. They were. She was great and super helpful. The campsites are beautiful although the bugs were pretty bad. They get one star knocked off because it was in California and if I could I'd never spend another dollar in that state. The showers were in working order and actually really nice. Stocked with soap in the bathrooms to wash hands. They sell firewood there so that's really nice. The lake access could use some work. Otherwise no complaints. Nice place.

My FAVORITE campsite. It is a little cooler than some but the view is great.

I manage the five campgrounds on Frenchman Lake so I can tell you that not all the camp sites in the campgrounds are reserveable. Depending upon the campground there are only 38 to 56 percent reserveable the rest are first come first served
Hike to the top of the volcanic rock formations South of camp. No data but you could make a call.
It's tough, caught one trout in 3 days.
I believe it could be because it's considered an open flame and you cannot have fire outside the firepit. I am not positive but that would be my guess :-)
