I had a double pane window that was broken only on the outside. I had postponed the repair for some time worrying abut finding a good company. Well, I found them and I'm extremely happy. They were great from the beginning communicating throughout the process. They showed up when they said they would and were very professional and friendly. The installers double checked everything and were very meticulous and took their time prepping the window to assure a proper fit and seal. I will definitely be calling them again and not waiting so long if I have any more broken windows.

Orlando did a wonderful job replacing my sliding glass door and a couple of windows. The company is fair, fast, polite and efficient. I would definitely recommend Glass Doctor for all your glass repair needs.

Questions & Answers

Are windshield replacements free in some states?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 24, 2022

Yes. In some states, called Zero-Deductible states, if you have full (comprehensive) coverage, your deductible is waived, and the windshield chip repair or full windshield replacement will be free to the policyholder. Our expert customer service team will help you determine your coverage level and work with your insurance company to verify your coverage level. We can handle the claims process for you, saving you time.

Can you buff scratches out of auto glass?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 24, 2022
Glass Doctor - Owner | May 24, 2022

Scratch removal in auto glass is not a commercially viable solution to the retail market. Basically, it is labor-intensive and not always successful. If the customer is not satisfied with the result, they are understandably not willing to pay for the time and materials invested by the glass company. Scratch removal and scratch buffing systems exist; however, they are typically only practical in warehouses, industrial, and larger commercial glass projects. Please call our Glass Doctor office if you would like a more detailed explanation.

How long after my windshield gets replaced can I drive away?

Currently, most Glass Doctor locations use urethane with a one-hour safe drive-away time from when the new windshield gets set. No need for blue tape or any holds on washing your car. You are fully protected at the 60-minute mark. Please be sure to check with your local Glass Doctor to ensure the type of urethane being used.

What is your Windshield Protection Plan?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 24, 2022

For auto glass, we have the best guarantee in the nation upon installing a new windshield. If you choose our Windshield Protection Plan, you’ll have coverage for a full 12 months. Should you get a rock chip in your new windshield, Glass Doctor will repair it at no cost to you. Our Windshield Protection Plan covers all rock chips received in the first 12 months — no limit. Should you receive damage that is not repairable such as a long crack or significant damage in the driver’s view area, we will replace the windshield at no cost to you for the glass material. Depending upon the type of coverage you purchase at the time of original install, you may be responsible for the cost of labor, adhesive, and moldings.

Can you cut tempered glass?

Glass Doctor - Owner | May 24, 2022
Glass Doctor - Owner | May 24, 2022

Unfortunately, tempered safety glass, by design, cannot be cut. It is designed to break into small pieces when cut or broken to reduce the risk of significant injuries to the person breaking it. Using safety glass, of which “tempered” is one type, is mandated by state building codes in specific applications like doors, sidelights, showers, etc. Please call Glass Doctor if you want more information on this topic.
