Making the decision to put a loved one in a memory care facility is very difficult, but choosing Certus at Waterford Lakes was the best decision I made for my father. The facility itself is so well thought out for Alzheimer/Dementia patients, giving them a very warm and welcoming feeling. More importantly though was the level of care that my father received there, from beginning to the end. The staff treated him like family, making him feel loved and respected. When I would visit everyone was always so friendly, and when I left I felt confident and secure that he was safe and happy. The Wellness Director was there for us every step of the way, answering all of my questions and making sure all of my fathers physical and mental needs were being taken care of. My father has since past away, but at the end when he needed hospice they recommended Cornerstone, and I cannot say enough amazing things about them either! Choosing the right memory care unit is so important and I can say without a doubt that Certus is one of the best places for your loved one, and would highly recommend them!

"For me as a clinical psychologist it is a privilege and a joy to visit the Community every week for the last 2 years to give my individual interventions where the residents benefit from a therapeutic relationship, engage in reminiscence, express thoughts and feelings and can learn new coping skills!! I need to say I feel a genuine interest from staff and caregivers for each one of the residents. I can appreciate compassionate care and individual attention to their specific needs! They are open to new ideas always thinking in the benefit of the residents and their families. Facility is gorgeus. Evidence based programs encouraging physical, social and emotional needs of each one of the residents! This facility is designed specifically for dementia patients. The activities are awesome (musical, arts, yoga chair and more). Staff and caregivers are great!Wellnes Director Katie is the best! Dr. Carmen Lauzurique, Ph.D. Licensed Psychologist

Worked here for a short time but all I have to say is WOW. I have been to a lot of ALFs as an EMT, and this by far is the nicest one I have seen. I didn’t see burn out, instead the employees smiled and had such incredible patience. Cheery. They truly love and care for the residents. Your ❤️ loved one is safe here. Awesome job activities and engagement w/Kyle and Kami. Staff knows all residents’ names and personalities. Neuropsychology engraved in everything here to help make sure the residents have the best and feel safest. Activities included dancing, sing alongs, pet therapy, arts and crafts, today in history, chair yoga/Zumba, trivia… Such kindness :)

Dad is cared for in such a good way. But, what happened to the quality of the meals? Last visit, the residents were fed fish sticks, tater tots, and a 1/4 cup of Cole slaw... but a huge piece of pie. This visit, they got a turkey lunch meat sandwich, potato chips, and pickle rounds. This is not the MIND diet, nor is it food that is nutritional or appealing enough to stimulate eating. It is also a giant step down from what they received two months ago. I hope to speak with management soon. UPDATE: many thanks to Daniel for calling me to check in, and update, regarding my concerns. As always, you care for your residents and their families. I will give Chef Matt time to work his magic.

At CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living, we’re committed to joining residents on their memory loss journey, helping to minimize the symptoms of dementia or even slow the progress of their disease, while enhancing their daily experiences – and our evidence-based methods make it all possible. In addition to our long-term Memory Care residences, our communities offer the option of short-term Respite Care stays, ideal for seniors who are recovering from a surgery or illness or to provide relief to a full-time caregiver. We also offer Adult Day Care services, featuring all the benefits of short-term Respite Care stays but in the form of limited day-long visits.
Our caring team offers transportation for fun and fulfilling group outings.
In addition to our signature programs, our residents enjoy a daily calendar that is filled with meaningful activities. For more information on the daily activity schedule, please feel free to call us at 407-605-5860.
At CERTUS Premier Memory Care Living, our research-based and evidence-based approach to Memory Care uses a variety of programs to support whole-person health in your loved one. By treating the individual rather than the disease, we promote greater wellbeing, helping empower your loved one to find more meaning and purpose in each day. Some of these signature programs include: A living community is architecturally designed with key features allowing residents to be more successful each and every day. Using a combination of color contrast theory, lighting, and wayfinding elements, these unique structures are easy to navigate and offer plenty of ways to help residents feel engaged. MAPS (Meaning and Purpose) program uses residents’ professional experience and personal skills to help engage them in everyday tasks in order to elevate their confidence and bring meaning and purpose to their lives. FIT MOMENTS: This program helps improve independence and physical wellbeing by encouraging residents to stay physically fit through daily activity with short bursts of exercise. Even residents who aren’t fond of traditional exercise can be encouraged to build physical strength through activities such as setting up chairs for an event or working in the garden. SPIN: Our resident wellness program, SPIN, stands for Social, Physical, Intellectual, and Nutritional Wellness. This research-based support program focuses on activities our residents can still do, maximizing their success as they journey through the day, helping to improve cognition, stimulating appetite, and encouraging independence. MUSICAL BREATH: Our award-winning program uses music therapy to engage residents, decrease sundowning, and foster neurological stimulation. Music is carefully selected for mornings, mealtime, and evenings and is played over a specially designed speaker system, throughout the community, as well as outside, in our therapeutic garden. PURPOSEFULLY-DESIGNED TRANSPORTATION: For many of our residents, experiencing life beyond the community’s walls is very important. To ensure that we support this need, we have designed a bus based on the latest research on comfort and resident ability. Our bus is equipped with color-contrasted seats and a headset speaker system to engage residents while they’re on their journey.
