Just getting started, great place Thank

I go to the breast cancer center (2.2). Nearly everyone is very pleasant and helpful and the physical facilities are top notch, but they lose one star for consistently *too* long waits for appointments (I've never gotten in less than two hours after appointment time...this is disrespectful of patients and pretty easily solved...) and another star for unprofessional and almost hostile scheduling staff member, including placing their enormous computer monitor between themself and the patient....you are staring at the hunk of black plastic and cannot make eye contact when speaking without standing up. Seemed bizarre and very off-putting.

Call Duke Cancer Center or go online
Check with the people who work in cancer center radiology . Call them to see if They want you to come
La quinta on chapel hill road is close, very nice rooms and beds except for suites, hood breakfast. We go there every time now. Close to stores and restaurants
I would call cancer center radiology and ask if the 4p.m appointment is still going
When you get to duke university hospital cancer center. Ask the personal at the desk if Dr. Christopher Mantwa is there.
Is you in the cancer center now
Just go to the duke my chart. Dukemychart.org
Almost any, even out of state. Call the Dr you want to see and ask.
http://emergency.duke.edu the website says all services are running on a normal schedule as of sunday 7am. But visit the duke emergency site i posted above to get updates. When your husband has his next appointment, ask for a number to call to get information on clsoings due to weather. They gave us a 1-800 number when my brother was having radiation. Hope this helps! Also you may want to call 211 to get a lsit of road closings due fo flooding. Lots of highways are closed.
Yes
I agree with Cherie
The sad thing about parking is you have to pay each time you go to the cancer center. It gets expensive, when you go every 2 weeks. It is best to park on the top level of the parking deck. You can park closer to the elevator. Then go to level 2 so you can walk through the long hall (overpass) towards the oncology area. They do sometimes have wheelchairs when you get to the 2nd floor level. It is a long walk for those going through chemo, and are weak.
I would call the dr she has the appt. with. Is she receiving a treatment that day? My brothers appointments for radiation lasted about 45 minutes (little longer the first time). If its for anything else who knows how long it will take. I would suggest planning to spend the night at a local hotel because 5 hours twice in one day is a long drive for anyone. God Bless!
Always call the cancer center and let them know that you cant get there safely, they will tell you what to do
Building 20 duke medical circle. It's going to be on the first floor. So you are going to be on the 0 level when you walk in the Cancer Center. You are going to have to take the elevator to the first floor and follow the sign to cancer center 1-2 .
