The front receptionists are nice! Otherwise it’s horrible beyond that point! This place is steadily relocating and no improvements! Takes forever for an appointment!

The np I have acts like she is annoyed when I’m telling my concerns regarding my headaches, I’m already feeling horrible then have to put up with a person who seems to not care or simply annoyed, it’s really frustrating for me…

I had an absurdly, exceptionally frustrating time at this clinic. For 3-4 years, stemming from an acute neck injury, I have slowly been losing sensation on the right side of my head, face and neck. It became significantly worse in the past few months, so I asked my PCP to refer me to a neurologist. First off, the earliest appointments they have available are for 3-4 months out. When your face is quickly becoming more numb over a few weeks, this isn't what you want to hear - but there is a pandemic ongoing. Fair enough. On top of this, you must fill out a 30+ page patient intake form that contains a ludicrously amount of redundant material and questions (The was one question repeated *verbatim* twice in a row, with the only change being "4" to "four".) They ask you questions such as "How long/often has this been occurring?" multiple times in different styled forms that they seemed to just throw together into a big, very lazily assembled intake form. Secondly, it didn't appear that my provider paid any attention to my patient intake form. For some reason, he attempted to treat me for headaches, not the lack of sensation in one half of my head and neck which I had made very clear on my intake form was my issue, and not headaches. Thirdly, when treating me, he would *roll his eyes* as I attempted to answer his questions, producing ridiculously impatient body language and using an extraordinarily rude tone and attitude. He was simply going through a checklist questionnaire without any attempt to hear me describe the problem in my own words. Then, after an elementary 5-minute checkup, he diagnosed my headaches (again, not at all my issue), gave me a prescription, and sent me out the door ignoring my request to explain the real reason I wanted to me seen and telling me to come back in another 4 months. I would highly, highly recommend choosing a different neurology Clinic. I don't think my experience elsewhere could have been any worse.

My experience at UNC Neurology has only been positive. The only negative for me is having to travel 3 hours one way. Dr. Sklerov has always shown concern for my problem. I have communicated with her through MyChart and received timely responses. As to people at the desk, I may not like what they have to tell me, but I realize they are simply doing their job and sharing the information set down by UNC Hospitals. I know from experience that if I display the wrong attitude, there's a good chance I might receive the same type of attitude in response. I do my best to "not shoot the messenger" just because I don't like the answer.
