I was initially worried about the bad reviews going in but I've had a wonderful experience so far. The receptionist is super kind and seems to genuinely care. I saw Audrey and she was very kind and receptive to my concerns while also offering helpful suggestions. She took her time asking about me, reviewing my history, and asking me how I felt every step of the way without belittling me or making me feel unheard. Definitely will be going back!

I am so glad I didn't read all the bad reviews before requesting an appointment here. I think people are inspired more to leave a review if they have a bad experience than a good one so I wanted to share my good experience. For years now I have been trying to find support for treating my ADHD. I had a very traumatic experience at Mindpath that has negatively impacted my ability to advocate for myself in medical conversations about my mental health but I really needed support so I kept trying. I found Alpha Psychiatric Associates through my insurance provider and I'm so glad I did. The process to become a patient and schedule a first appointment was very easy, something that really resonated with me because oftentimes there are barriers to that initial appointment with a provider that makes being seen not possible or at least very difficult. Sue was very responsive both over the phone and in email and she is soooo lovely and nice; I really enjoy speaking with her. Going into my first appointment with Ada, I was so nervous because I feel like I have had to really defend my ADHD diagnosis and I was fully expecting Ada to require me to jump through hoops before she agreed to manage my medications. This was not the case and I almost cried from relief after the appointment. Not only did Ada listen to me, she made me feel like I had complete autonomy over what medication went into my body. She discussed with me the different kinds of ADHD medication as well as the medications I was currently on that my PCP prescribed me. She definitely helped me choose what medication we should try first and made decisions on how we would titrate and when we would check in, etc. but she also always affirmed that she would support whatever I was comfortable with because ultimately, I know my body best. She also makes herself available to clients out of scheduled sessions which is great in case you need a refill on something. In fact, she took over my medications from my PCP and I was able to text her that I would need a refill before our next appointment and she was able to take care of it. She is also really sweet and very personable, it feels like you're speaking with a friend. I can't even describe how empowering it is to be listened to and not to feel like you have to defend your symptoms or your experiences to a medical provider. And to have an open line of communication in case something goes wrong has made me feel a lot safer taking medication. Especially because I know Ada will listen to me and trust what I tell her about my experiences. I am so grateful!!!

Managing an account and payments with these guys is like stepping back into the 70s. They send me an invoice that doesn't show a payment I made, and my only option is to call them (online is pay only). I do, and they say "oh yes, I see it here." On their computer. Not on the invoice I was sent. And more than once they have delayed refilling a prescription until I paid the outstanding balance (never more than $100). There is no way to contact the provider directly - no phone number, no voice messages, no email. Everything must be relayed through the front desk. If I had not moved out of state I'd be finding a different provider.
