It might just need a new battery. I’ve had this happen on one even older,ordered a battery and replaced it myself. BUT it’s kind of a pain. Just had this happen to a newer one (7 years old) but this time I’ll have a service replace it. It has lifetime maps so I see no reason to get a new one just for a need for a battery. I don’t drive cross country country anymore.
If you contact the Garmin call center they'll tell you what they can do.
