UNC School of Dentistry should clarify its relationship to CD and whether it assumes any responsibility for the incompetence of this management company or is merely renting out space in its UNC facility. I gather that this is a fairly new arrangement riding on the coat-tails of a formerly respected UNC service whose reputation for patient care is now severely threatened. There is apparently no one minding the store :questions go unanswered; the poorly-paid students providing the services appear to be assigned work beyond their skill levels and their supervision is erratic. Potential patients should demand a detailed accounting from a representative of Carolina Dentistry before engaging with them and committing themselves in any way . My experience has been a horror---students providing the labor are not to blame for the shoddy and irresponsible direction they receive and the unwitting patients are put at considerable risk for trusting the once good reputation for patient care the School of Dentistry once deserved.

I was charged over $100 to replace a crown that came off that was put on a little over a year ago in this practice. I have never been charged for a service like this in the past at other dental practices. I won't be going back.

The worst place ever. For mistake of them they took another Panoramic Radiographic to my husband, and now are sending an extra bill. We will never go back to this place.

Thank you for helping my 6 year old daughter, who was terrified to go to the dentist after a bad experience at another practice. The clinic director was so understanding and the dentist was so kind and gentle! Thank you!!

Mr. Weldon, There are no grants for dental work. You should visit www.dentistry.unc.edu and click on patients and then how to become a patient. It will give you information regarding how to become a patient of the student and graduate clinics (where the fees are discounted). You can also call 919-537-3424 to get information regarding research dental studies and whether you might qualify to paricipate.
Thank you for contacting the UNC Dental Faculty Practice. One of our receptionist will be contacting you today. Monica
Hi Stephanine, Please call 919-537-3565. Each patient's situation can be different. By calling this number the assistant can ask you questions and give you a range for the fees. thank you.
