First time going to this church. The greeter gave my girlfriend and I dirty looks as we approached the door. We are an interracial couple. I said hello to him and he ignored me and looked away. Great first impressions!! Service was like all other services. 2 songs tithing and another song. The sermon was interesting. We walked out before it was over to speak with someone at the welcome desk to ask more information as my gf wanted to learn more and has some questions. The lady at the welcome desk was not friendly at all. And she either didn’t know any information or did not want to tell us. To the point where one of the musicians followed us outside to get our information. Is the church racist? (New people associate greeters with the image of the church) and the lady behind the welcome desk not giving us any info Or even asking for contact info. This is why there are no new people going to church. Because even tho the pastors may try their hardest to bring in new people. Their congregations are doing the opposite. Driving people away. My parents are pastors in a different city. I grew up in church. I was part of their ministry team. I played music and helped set up event. And all I remember is the feeling of being welcome and embraced the feeling that this is where you belong. This church did not feel that way. It felt like everyone was just going through the motions. I would not go back to this church. Because no matter what any of the pastors say. What I’m going to remember the most is the dirty looks I got from the greeter that was standing next to the door. And the lady at the welcome desk not even willing to ask for our information. Even though we were clearly interested in attending.
