Grassroots Ice Cream

I’ve been to 20+ ice cream places in CT, and I would put Grassroots right near—if not at—the very top. Their unique flavors never disappoint (I had Samoa and buttercream at my last visit) and the texture is outstanding. It’s about a half hour drive for us to get there, but we always walk away satisfied and glad we came.

Was really looking forward to trying this place as I read about them in Yankee Magazine - but of course the one time I visit my family in CT I find out they’re closed on Sundays. What ice cream place is closed on the weekend in the summertime!? I’ll have to update my review as this shop looks delicious. But until then - definitely disappointing to not have more convenient hours for customers that are not local.

They have really great icecream! I just went for my first time. I ordered one scoop of Irish Cream chocolate chip, and a scoop of caramel ice cream on a chocolate waffle cone. Amazing!
