We went to go see a puppy today we had to make a appointment, they knew we were coming from out of town and drove along way just to see then one puppy and they talked to us the whole drive to there place about us seeing this one puppy and when we got there they said we couldn't see him cause all the puppies were in quarantine and had been for a couple days but they didn't tell us that before we left to come see the puppy that day, so we wasted money and gas and our time to go see and adopt a puppy and were turned away and this is also after then made us wait 20 mins after we got there even though we had a appointment that day very discouraging and unprofessional like I say.

This “rescue” should not be your first choice when adopting a dog, their contract does not benefit anyone and leaves the dog and the adopter paying for it so please CAREFULLY read the contract when adopting from WVHS, if you’re having seconds thoughts have 2 more. We adopted a dog and in LESS than 24 hours decided she wasn’t a good fit. We didn’t realize that returning the dog within 24 hours was going to be such a hassle just for them to give us a piece of paper. WVHS does not negotiate AT ALL. “Shelters” like these are the reason why kill shelters exist, their employees are over-worked and the dogs are subjected to poor living conditions until they get adopted. Any medical attention they need is not fully completed before becoming available, this is highly unethical and very unsafe. I will also add they do not give enough useful information on the dogs they have on their profiles. If they have more information you have to go through the entire application process just to see it. If we decide to go back to this shelter hopefully their adoption process will be a lot smoother.

They should call this inhumane society. I'm homeless disabled and have no money my dog must have either eaten something or something is wrong with her and they wouldn't even answer the door. I waited outside for 20 minutes pushing the button for the buzzer and into talk nothing I finally called the number on the door and they said they don't even they won't even look at my dog. Basically telling me to let my dog die. This is the 1st and only bad review I've ever given ever. Word to the wise never don't eat money to this place never

they are definitely a no-kill animal shelter. They have animals that have been there for months and months waiting for their forever home.
Yes it is! They are very caring to all the animals. I love to visit. They also have a Facebook page to show you animals and the great things they and the community do for the animals.
Contact the front desk and fill out a form and they will contact you
No appointment necessary! Vaccine clinic is 11am-5pm Monday - Friday. Stop in anytime! Most vaccines for dogs are $15.
You leave the dog in your vehicle and go in the front door. They will have you fill out some info and then have you bring it around the side where someone will meet you
Yes, All The Time. You can see all dogs and cats up for adoption on the West Valley Humane Society Facebook Page and Website.
Yes
Yeah. It may be a bit of a wait but you just ask the people at the front desk and they'll get an aca to come and get one out for you
West valley humane society has a walk in vaccine clinic open Monday-Friday 11am-5pm. The rabies vaccine, bordatella, Da2PP and FVRCP are each $15. They also offer dog city licensing for Nampa & Caldwell
I must agree check out the website that's where you may see what animals are up for adoption
The shelter has a Spay Mama program to fix mama for free and put babies up for adoption fully vetted. To get set up on the program call (208)455-5928. Thank you!
To be a volunteer without an adult 16. 7 to 15 with an adult
Yes, small fee's but definitely worth it..!! But i know there is senior disc, as well asa Dr. Companionship order disc.. as well
The shelter holds stray dogs for 5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays to give owners an opportunity to find their lost pets.
They do sometimes. Just got to call every so often or check their website. Their pretty good at updating it.
Yes they will be open from 11-7pm.
There's none online only if you go there
Sometimes trying another shelter is good. Had good results with Blaney Vet. Clinic. Recommend them now. Go see them today.
Generally same day depending on time..
https://westvalleyhumanesociety.org/medical-release/ just fill out that form.
Right now she's being fostered by one of our amazing vet techs To help get back up to weight unfortunately she's been having trouble getting back up to weight
Look on their website because that is where I found all the info I needed. Also you can call and they will give you an email address where are you can ask questions.
West Valley Humane Society will likely take the kitten or you could try Pet Haven in Nampa on Orchard.
Many of our dogs may do well with cats. We write in their biographies everything we know about them to set them up for success. We’d recommend looking through dogs you may be interested and seeing if they may be a good fit for your home.

You have to call and make a app3
You would have to call them and ask them the price. I am not sure what it is.
They only spay n neuter animals that have been incarcerated at the Humane society. Not for the general public
West vet is 24/7 and reasonable. They're in Boise. We just had our cat put to rest there and cremated for $190. Sorry for your loss.

The shelter does not have field services. Here is a link to our website with more info: https://westvalleyhumanesociety.org/cat-programs/
They do, call ahead. If your dog can be helped through medicine, diet, and exercise they will do what they can and re-home... But if euthanasia is most humane, they can.
No, it's better to board your dog at intermountain pet vet they have a great bordering/ doggy day camp
If you give them $50 deposit they will neuter him for free. After you pick him up they give you back your $50
records are kept & ask for a copy

You should definitely give them a call first thing Monday morning. They are usually more than happy to treat infections that developed during the animal's stay at the shelter, if they should flare up after adoption. With no additional cost to you.
Depends. Usually anywhere between 50-200, depending on breed and condition
Currently, yes. Available animals are on the website at www.westvalleyhumanesociety.org. Make sure to view on a computer to see them all as the website is not mobile friendly.
Depending on whether you are a client or not. They are still cheaper and based on income.
They r so rude and they want to give my puppies that got picked up shots they just got and rabie shots they are 11 weeks old and we got the shots last week
You can check and see, their website is up to date on available adoptions! Worst case you cant go in and check! I always love visiting their animals!
Dont know what kind of dog you have, but id check your rescues first. The horror of the fire, being lleft behind with no one to comfort her, an then to be placed in a noisy, lloud strange place all alone...So sad. Even c check out foster care where she would be in a home enviroment. Things are hard right now, i understand, but remember your dog was always there for you, do the same for hermotel 6 is cheap an allows pets, so does super 8 nampa inn, rodeway in, take her with you. Therez quite a few motels that accept pets without a deposit
You have to go in and fill out paperwork and answer some questions, it is not a simple pick pet and run, as they want to make sure the owner and pet are right for each other.
That service is not provided at the shelter.
It is dependent on our vet's surgery schedule on whether or not we are able to offer spay/neuter services to the public. You are welcome to call us and see if we can fit you in. If not, we recommend the SPOT clinic at IHS or SNIP for low cost spay and neuter services!
Monday-Friday 11am-5pm
Look online. They have all their animals that are available for adoption posted online. Their website is not very mobile friendly, but you can click on adoptapet.com and then you should be able to see all the available animals not only at West Valley Humane Society, but at all the other participating shelters in the area.
Yes we are an open admission shelter and can take in any stray or lost animal in Canyon County.
I think about 25_35$ I'm not sure but call them they are very helpful
All available animals are listed on the shelter website at www.westvalleyhumanesociety.org.

There is no fee to drop off a stray found in Canyon County.
They can always use good blankets in good shape and they can always use any type of food donations some dogs have allergies some don't and they have puppies kittens cats dogs old dogs all kinds of old animals all kinds of kittens just got to love them all but yes all donations are welcome
You're going to have to call them and ask. They get strays and surrenders but they don't declaw cats.
It is a $30 surrender fee. The fee helps to getting the dog fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
You will have to go on their website and look. They don't monitor the Google questions.
Call them as it depends on age etc. .
Microchipping is $30
7-15 with an adult, 16+ without call and find out when their volunteer orientation is. You have to go through that before you can volunteer.
Yes. They have a TNR program that includes a set fee and an ear tip. The ear tip does not hurt or affect them in any way.

All available animals are listed on the website. Make sure to view it on a computer or tablet, as the I-frame isn't mobile-friendly.
