let's be honest, it's a shelter. there's no glits or glam but they provide a good service to the community. it ain't always what you want but at the time it's what you need. I salute them.

If noon is your check out thencheck with Steve at 2 in the dining hall he may be of assistance...I had my xmas dinner there last thursday and he seemed to be a very caring soul (not to mention a good cook as well)!!! Personally I'm kind of out of the loop on shelters and "rules" and don't know of one that allows coed beds if not.....get back on google and find me...
Its a church that is acquented with you, or try United Way which is 311or211 if you get no satisfaction from salvation army, but they are usually. good kind people who do help in a time of need. Sandy Palmer
Yes you must apply. It's a process, but it is easy. Just bring a lock for your locker.
35 W Owen's Ave
It is highly unfortunate down there in salvation army. Not only worried about getting attacked sometimes. You also got to worry about your phone getting stolen, your shoes getting stolen, anything you have that is worth any type of value getting stolen.
Oh ok..so where do those that stay free sleep on if they not paying for a bed?
There is a free community meal for anyone on the planet every single day at 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. 35 West Owens right at the railroad tracks. As far as sleeping there is an emergency shelter or two here and there's also a paid bed shelter $10 a night. They serve meals here 3 times a day for $4 you can use your food stamps and there's other ways to eat there as well. I've had meals there that were extraordinary they would be $50 downtown. They do an absolutely great job with what they have to work with.
The age range is 18 and up. The hostel is $15 a night. We do have the free shelter open now but it's first come first serve basis. If the do have a job they can come in. After 6 pm as long as its verifiable. We do a clarity card for id. They fill out an application that is self reporting.
The free housing starts October 6th I believe.
4pm
I volunteer here everyday so I'll give you the answer I give everyone... You'll want to get here around 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm and get in the line along the gate and staff begins check in from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm. If you have Medicaid or any insurance that is accepted, you're going to want to talk to Ellisa or Mike, they are here during the weekdays, to ask them about the paid dorm... If there's anything else I can assist you with, please let me know
I don't know of any place you can sleep during the day time
Nope
Yes you have to leave by 6am. I don't know when there opening up the cooling station
Thanks. It would be nice after 9 months if someone would just walk up to you and tell you what make, model and give you the keys and be done with it!
Yes. 8am breakfast. 11am lunch. 1230pm lunch. 5pm dinner. I'm pretty sure this are the mealtimes. Register here: https://volunteer.usawest.org/OpportunityDetail.aspx?ID=3251
There are three separate locations. Look them up online, and call. Hope you find your loved one. God bless.
They serve lunch at 1pm every day. There isn't an actual food pantry at the 35 Owens location. But they will feed you at 1, and they prefer you have a clarity card otherwise just your ID will do.
I'm not sure I have never been up there.
I don't work there. As far as I know, the parking is free.
Just Identification and patience.

Yes ... 8-4 every day at summer time but winter i think at night if you get in to sleep you will be able to shower is mandatory
You can come and go as you please.
Go to the front door at the day room and they will tell you where to go
Help pay it. B. C being on ssi only 500 month. Sometimes one bill gets unpaid
They can help you with both you might have to do the other program for adiction.
The Las Vegas Rescue Mission give clothes away on Friday at 9:00 am . You can go to Foremaster street near Catholic charities on Las Vegas Blvd on Saturday morning about 9:00 am
The shelter opens around 5:30-6pm-ish...bring a pad lock with you and request from the director Mr. David to assign or expedited you a open front locker away from the shed. Do not give in...there are always an empty locker up front with more than 24 hour notices for the previous user to discard their personal belongings. Find one empty yourself up front under the previlion. Stay away from leaving your belongings in the shed or the unlighted area that has lockers down the hill. If you can help it...dont bring anything that cant fit into an 10 gallon size kitchen trash bag. No back pack, suitcase, etc are allow in the free or paid hostel dorms for men or women! Some state insurance provide coverage for the paid hostel beds. Check with the Salvation Army first or your insurance provider for that benefit. Other than that dont expect to eat 3 hots a day. They serve once a day at 1:30-2:30pm. Catholic charities serve at 10am for free once a day and so do the Rescue Mission on Bonanza St.
Um well... who is the doc and where are you planing on going? Most doctors are quite busy though so unfortunately you might have to schedule a meeting
Yes, the day room is open during the day you can take a shower and do some laundry to my understanding. Free lunch 1:30 to 2:30.
Get in contact with Salvation Army try to reach out to someone who is in charge of the volunteer program I'm not exactly sure who's in charge of volunteer for the kitchen but I don't think there are any requirements as they do have tons of children as well as other programs and people that come in to help feed
If you qualify there's a program that allows one to rent an apartment furnished utilities included for sliding scale.
The Sunday service starts at 9 am. Coffee and cookies served at 8 am. Lunch is served at 10:30 Am. All at Hope Chapel.
Front desk is 24 hrs. Specific programs have different hours, Veterans, homelessness, vocational, transitional housing etc. In general though, hours of operation would be 8:30am to 5:00pm. I hope this helps
