Wonderful studio, amazing teacher (Lesa) who gets to know you and provides adapted poses to accommodate any injuries or inabilities. She knows the mechanics of the body and can help ANYone. Lesa is a beautiful human being and an excellent instructor. She is extremely knowledgeable about body mechanics and anatomy and can modify any pose to meet the needs of the individual student. The other instructors are all held in high …Christine: your are so kind! It has been a pleasure to lead you through the twists and turns of the body.

I am new to yoga and Lesa Kingsbury has been an amazing instructor! She is incredibly knowledgeable, teaching in a way where she deconstructs the positions, and makes modifications when needed. Amba Yoga is very welcoming to students of all levels; I would highly recommend classes here.

I have been coming to this yoga studio for nearly four years. When I first started taking classes, I was uncoordinated, not too flexible and battling sciatica. Taking yoga classes at Amba makes me feel like a warrior who can take on anything! Both my flexibility and balance improved greatly and I am now doing things I've never done before, like head balance! I am nearly 59 years old, and to be able to do these things at this age is nothing short of incredible. I owe it all to the fabulous instructors at Amba. Lesa Kingsbury, who owns the studio and teaches the alignment classes, is perhaps the most versatile instructor around. When demonstrating poses, her body moves like a well-tuned machine, making the poses appear effortless. Lesa is adept at reading her students' bodies and gives you personalized attention. She makes it her business to know about issues each of her students faces and customizes poses to best suit their needs. She will accommodate people with severe physical restrictions and at the same time offers advanced versions of the same pose to someone who can do it. All in all, this studio has a nice mix of classes. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings there is vinyasa, which is fast paced and builds endurance. This class is taught by the incredible Lisa Iacono, who sometimes infuses a bit of the martial arts into the poses and goes through every move with great grace. At the conclusion of every class, Lisa offers an unsurpassed savasana, which entails a quick mini adjustment and placing a lavender oil-infused cloth over your brows for maximum relaxation. I haven't experienced that anywhere else! I feel so blessed to have found this studio — and maybe a little spoiled.
