After visiting a few other schools in the surrounding areas I landed on The California Cosmetology Academy. When I walked in for the first time my initial thoughts were that this school was aesthetically pleasing, very clean and organized, and it seemed like a good learning environment. After enrolling I learned these are standards the teachers and staff hold high standards for. During my time at CCA I was met with an amazing teacher and learning environment. Their main priority was to make sure I had the tools, skills and knowledge I needed to pass my state board exam and attain my License. I would highly recommend CCA to any aspiring Cosmetologist or Esthetician’s.

I'm not very impressed thus far, my daughter attends this school (Esthetician) She has signed contracts, made timely payments, we have provided payment in full for books and a kit for her, and she has still not been provided her kit (over 2 months) she has had to borrow items from other students or not been able to participate in hands on learning. She has on numerous occasions (which she has documented) inquired about where and when her kit will arrive. She is repeatedly told it has been "lost in the mail", "they do not have any tracking information", and the last straw was " it was delivered and left in the bad weather and had to be returned"! This is completely unacceptable and is hindering her learning experience. I truly hope the owner sees this review and checks on the status of her students kits at this location. 12/11/19 UPDATE: I reached out to the owner yesterday to try to get answers regarding the situation with the kit for my daughter, no response. I was however told that all the Esthetician students were reprimanded today for involving a parent (who is paying the tuition) and it should be resolved by said students! This situation was brought to the instructors attention SEVERAL times over the past almost 3 months by my daughter with nothing done! So she came to me to ask for advice. Nothing was resolved and the few students that finally received their kits (this week) it was incomplete and students were made to dismantle their kits to distribute evenly to be used Communally! Everyone is required to pay $900 for a kit to have as their own according to THIER contracts! This fee has to be paid PRIOR to attending when contracts are signed (they refuse to provide students copies of signed contracts)This school is mishandling money! It will be turned over to Board of Barbers and Cosmetology to be investigated.

This school and its current staff are amazing. I have never seen such dedicated people. Hannah leads an excellent student teaching staff and registrar who really cares. They have open days that anyone can attend and I went to a couple and they are fun and informative. The school is so clean, spacious and the staff have a goal to ensure each student not only passes state board exams but has excellence and skills to move straight into a career in beauty. Go down to the school and check this out for yourself.
