Mostly okay for me. The only down side is I'm very claustrophobic and the waiting room is small and if I get uncomfortable the hallway is super narrow. So it's a lose lose if I go. Other than that the staff are super helpful, respectful, and sufficient.

Very inefficient, they might yell at you, the woman in the office would be very rude to you so be prepared to get insulted before you enter the office

1) I don't see why it is so hard to make an appointment. 2) My application had been forgotten till I called them for asking my case status. At least you only need 5-10 min for new SSN, I don't know for the other things but many things are supposed to be done online. I always see the same person. There might be too much work to do for one person, but it is not our -residents'- problem, just increase employee. I'm usually very satisfied by many social services in Ithaca, but I'm very unhappy with SSA. Again, if there are too much work to process all, hire more to provide better service.

There is no actual 'cost' for a replacement card. However, there are certain clauses that can effect your ability to succeed in attaining one. For instance, any one individual is allotted the maximum of 10 replacement cards in their lifetime. Keep in mind though that if it is a special occasion for which you require a new card, then it does not count as one of your '10'.(such as marriage, divorce, name change, etc.) The only requirement for attaining a replacement is any required documentation that "your" local office requires for proof of identity. With that being said, I am unaware of the Ithaca offices 'offered service's. They may, or may not, have the ability to issue replacement cards.
An eternity.
