Follow me to see what's next! Really, at this point, it could be anything! A solid 5⭐ here at Ray's Shanty! We had four adults eating and 3 of us gave this a 5⭐. Service: 5⭐ fast and friendly! Food: 5⭐ large portions, good value. No one is leaving this place hungry. Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. Speed: 5⭐ holy cow this place was BUSY. We waited an hour but once seated we had drinks and hush puppies immediately and the food wasn't far behind. Food came out surprisingly fast. 40 minutes from seating to finish. Ambience: 4⭐ a little loud but cute and kitchy. Well worth the drive, time and money. ⬇️ If you found this helpful hit the 👍

Great place! If you're in the area, don't miss out trying it. Food is delicious and the service is great. Waitress was on top of everything. There's a reason they've been around since 1986. Try it, you won't be sorry.

Absolutely the best seafood! We drive from Indiana to enjoy the beach at Assateague and eat at Ray’s—at least twice every trip. The steamed shrimp and crab cakes are our favorites, but everything we’ve tried has been good. The hush puppies are great and the coleslaw is tangy yet sweet. Service is top notch, too. A can’t miss location.

Fresh salad, loads of shrimp, and the halibut was awesome. Crab dip needed a little help with some ole bay, service was great.

Yes. This place "does" sell raw seafood at the market on the side of the restaurant
As far as I know, restaurants in Virginia are open for at least a week in 50% capacity, so I would think this applies to Ray's Shanty also. Simplest is to call them
Sometime in March..probably after fishing season slows down..the owner is also commercial fisherman and catches a large portion of fresh local seafood..
No particular night. Just when they have it (which is usually).
The last time I was there I did not see a lobster special. I just read on the website. Friday is there Lobster day.
I think it is closing in the next week or so....
