I LIKE THIS FACILITY, LOCATED ON CANAL STREET, RIGHT NEAR THE TRIBECA AREA, CLOSE TO THE HOLLAND TUNNEL, 10 BLOCKS AWAY FROM THE MANHATTAN BRIDGE... THERE ARE A COUPLE RESTAURANTS IN THIS AREA NOTHING SPECIAL, MCDONALD'S, DUNKIN DONUTS, SOME NICE GOURMET DELIS, YOU MIGHT HAVE TO SEARCH FOR FOOD BUT I PROMISE YOU THIS AREA DOES HAVE FOOD CHINA TOWN IS NOT FAR FROM HERE ALSO THE AREA OF LITTLE ITALY , SO TAKE A NICE WALK IN ANY DIRECTION GOING EAST ,NORTH, SOUTH, YOU WILL FIND FOOD, BUT HEADING TOWARDS THE WEST FROM CANAL WILL LEAD YOU TO THE HUDSON RIVER BEAUTIFUL AREA BUT NO FOOD.... NOW LETS TALK ABOUT THE GYM ,GREAT GYM I WAS TOLD IT DOESN'T GET CROWDED NOR WAS IT CROWDED WHEN I ENTERED THE LOCATION, VERY LITTLE STAFF TO RUN IT AS IT WAS NOT NEEDED,GREAT FITNESS EQUIPMENT, MORE THEN ENOUGH SPACE, I DIDN'T SEE A DESIGNATED STRETCH AREA, BUT THEY HAVE AMPLE ROOM TO DO WHAT YOU NEED, I DONT BELIEVE PLANET FITNESS DOES CLASSES, BATHROOM WAS CLEAN .... BUTTTT THIS PLANET FITNESS IS ALSO LOCATED IN THE BASEMENT NO NATURAL LIGHT WHAT SO EVER... THE E AND C TRAINS ARE NEAR, THE Q AND R TRAINS ARE NEAR, THE 1 TRAIN IS NEAR, THE 4 AND 5 ARE CLOSE AS WELL ALL THIS TRAINS ARE MAYBE A 10 MINUTE WALK TO THE GYM OVERALL GOOD EXPERIENCE

People complaining about petty stuff like loud music, get some earphones like most normal people do, staff is very friendly and i enjoy working out here. Just wish they had more of the long lockers.

Basic to the max. Little to zero service. Never paper towels in the rollers, often the spray bottle has no cleaning fluid left. People sitting on machines but not working out. People leaving weights and equipment everywhere, people grabbing or stealing paper towel. Updated to add this: Why is PF allowing folks to walk around with no shirts and shoe on? I don't mind if they don't wear shoes on the squat rack for stability issues or even at the area where there is no one near them but there is no reason why folks should be allow to be shoeless/shirtless around the gym. For god sakes that is not in any sense hygiene and it stinks. And it is always the guys that want to show their non existent abs. It is disgusting, I saw a guy who is so out of shape literally shirtless walking around the gym. There are also folks that is just stand in front of the weight rack taking up space while working out. Take that weight to a designate spot/chair and work out. Other people need to use the weights too. You working out in front of the weight rack, takes up the space of five weight spots. I know PF is suppose to be non judgement but this is a public space, you want to do that stuff, get your own private gym.
