In the small, scenic mountain town of Chester, a great discovery is the lovely restaurant Cravings. My husband and I own a vacation home in the area, and we know all the local eateries well. Cravings is always worth a visit. Breakfasts and lunches are delicious and offer many selections. The owners put their heart into the menus and it has paid off. The chef, also one of the owners, is very creative with food ingredients. GF and other dietary needs are also covered. The restaurant atmosphere is homey and welcoming, the building like a mountain cabin located near the Feather River. There is outside dining available and a unique and delightful book store attached to the restaurant. Dont miss perusing there. These owners have kept Cravings alive throughout the pandemic and the Dixie fire. Your patronage will support this local gem.

A magical little spot in Chester, CA. My wife and I enjoyed a black coffee with our breakfast (Rusty Roof Coffee). I'm told that it was local roster. I was tempted to take advantage of the free refills! We really loved the attached bookstore and the gorgeous atmosphere. I enjoyed one of their corned beef dishes, made with their own home made corned beef, while my wife enjoyed a wonderful goat cheese and spinach scramble. Tucked away in the indoor window seating made for a wonderful little stop in the mountains. If you get the chance, we encourage a visit!

Fantastic, service food and atmosphere. Very country / classy feel. Everything was fantastic! Would come back if in this area again!

I ride my motorcycle here once a year from Sacramento for breakfast.. Wonderful staff, delicious food, adorable atmosphere. So happy they are in business. Don't forget to buy a book.

Yes, there IS and always has been free WiFi. We do, however, live in an underserved area, and service becomes quite spotty with all of the visitors in town during summer. That's a Frontier issue that we cannot remedy, unfortunately.
Cravings is almost directly across the highway from the Holiday Market. The goat cheese omelette is wonderful!
