Had fun here for awhile until game wardens showed up and confiscated 3 rifles for lame Commiefornia technicalities. Just make sure you are up to date with all the new lame laws in Commiefornia or you lose your guns and have to go to court.

Great place to shootI ., but people need to clean up targets etc before they leave. All and all most people friendly and follow the rules

Free public range, no range masters, no employees there at all. Not 24 hrs. Open from dawn til dusk. Bring your own targets, stands, canopies etc. Clean up after yourself.

A.L. - This is a free public access shooting range. While there is no range master, there is shooting etiquette to be followed. Everyone needs to wait for the shooting to stop at all of the positions before advancing onto the range. Typically someone will raise their arm and yell, "Clear," and keep their arm in the air. Each shooting position will then yell clear and keep their arms in the air. Everyone most wait until all shooters have done this before walking onto the range.
The hours for the range are sunrise to sunset.
Yup. I take my 10 yr old all the time.
Rob, there are no range fees.
Bobby, yes, clay pigeon shooting is allowed at this range. There is an area to the shooter's far left that is set aside for shooting clay pigeons.
Open all year, sunrise to sundown
That is a really good question. There is not any shade, and the shooting postions (concrete tables) are not covered. Some shooters bring an Easy-Up to shade their table. Summers in Oroville typically reach the 100 degree range, so late June, all of July and August can be very hot.
Grizzly, I don't think there are any restrictions bringing air rifles or airsoft to the range, but there are many areas that may be better suited to airguns. Regarding targets, no glass is allowed. Even though the range is cleaned by the CCC, each shooter is expected to pick up all of the targets they've brought. There is a dumptster on site.
Yes and targets and whatever you need to hold the targets
It's 600 yards maximum
Yes. I bring steel spinners but the ground is too hard to stick the spikes so I made a holder out of a piece of truck frame or wood.
To cease fire: Hold up your arm and shout "CLEAR", so users can go look at/ place or replace targets. The "common" rule is that everyone on the range will then hold up their own arm to signify they heard the "CLEAR". This is done until everyone complies. After everyone has done what they needed to do, "CLEAR" will be shouted again and everyone must once again acknowledge the shout before firing can commence.
Bonnie, I have used the range for several years and have never seen a person shoot with a bow. (The problem is, there would have to be a cease fire called every time you wanted to collect your arrows, so it's probably not a good idea.)
You can not collect lead at this range.
Many individuals collect the unwanted brass on a daily basis. Resell and reloading. The shooting range is also cleaned weekly.
Yes u must bring ur own targets.fyi the ground is super hard out there so come prepared with a sledgehammer to drive your targets into the ground😉
