Most comments here are about pricing and scamming, do pet owners think medical care is free??? Banfield experiences have always been transparent and they tell you beforehand if there's an additional charge for a service. They don't take advantage of a pet parent distress, they give you options, but people overreact or get mad at (most of the time) their own irresponsibility with their pet. 🙄

I've brought my father's dog to this place for 3 years since we first got this dog as a puppy. I've paid for their subscription service which isn't inexpensive (ultimately I don't think worth it). My father recently died and his 100+ pound Rottweiler is now in the custody of my 66 year old mother. We took the dog for a check up since it was not eating for 24 hours. Come to find out that he has a bad ear infection. The doctor gives her $500 worth of medication (apparently discounted after the plan). Sends her home and we find out the dog is not letting her administer the medicated drops in the ear. I go over to try and help to no avail. Tried everything from treats to attempted force. I call the vet and they tell me that I am going to need 3-4 people to hold the dog down to administer the drops. There is only myself and my 66 year old mother. I asked them if there is a way they can do it. They said it would be $25 each application and total $250 if I wanted to get him better because it is the only way. I feel defeated because I want my dog to stop being in pain but $250 is an exorbitant amount for just putting in ear drops. Not to mention the commute. I just wished they understood and cared more about the situation and the animals. I understand they're doing their jobs but $250 to administer medication you bought there when you've been a member with a medical plan with them for 3 years. It just seems a little heartless.

No matter the time or the day but when I call they put me on a brief hold until I finally give up and hang on the phone. Staff seems to be really nice. Place is always full and busy, takes forver for a simple vaccine.

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
We believe that preventive care is the most effective way to keep your pet healthy throughout all stages of life. Our pet hospitals offer many preventive care treatments, including: • Vaccinations • Dental Care • Parasite Control • Nutritional Counseling • Behavioral Counseling • Comprehensive Examinations
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
