FPL please help !! Worst public services in the country ...took a payment for a service transfer but didn't advise of an previous owner pass due until my transfer fee payment posted .

HORRIBLE! The way the employees speak to you when you call and have a question regarding your account is ridiculous and very un-professional! Second they have no idea how to keep track of if you paid your utility bill on time and then before you checking I assume they begin to send you notice of charging extra money etc! Horrible, horrible!!

Because of lack of time I have let this issue go and pass by, but the system that they use for bill pay it never matches the amount that I pay some times it does and other do not match, since I have a few accounts in the City of Homestead is a mess to deal with them, they do not answer their emails, they do not care about their Citizens issues and they are super expensive and basically they contrict you to using their services and not FPL, they do not give you options is their services and no others. Can we the people change this one way partisan actitute of forcing you the citizens to exhibiting blind, prejudiced, and unreasoning allegiance to them and only them that they do not allow to use FPL instead of them. Its up to the people us to fight!

New to the Homestead area and wasn’t aware that FPL didn’t service the area, therefore didn’t know I needed to contact HPS as my realtor neglected to tell me. Regardless, had to wait for the previous owner to pay his bill in order to put it in my name. They wanted me to email or fax my credit card info for my deposit, which was a ridiculous amount, I wasn’t ok with that so I purposely left a digit off. Instead of contacting me, they sent someone to shut off my water/lights midday. The tech was very nice and helpful and told me what I needed to do I have mixed feelings about the customer service. I called and spoke with a manager who told me she didn’t have any work orders to shut off my service and couldn’t tell me anything. No work order to turn service off but yet it was done. So she put in a request to have someone call me back. Im not sure whom the young lady I s/w was but she was very helpful! Took my deposit over the phone (after waiting 2+hrs for a call back) and let me know that someone MIGHT be out to turn on my services since it was almost 5p but for the low non refundable price of $250 (what a rip off) my services will be guaranteed to be turned on that day. I work from home and have a dog and waiting until sometime the following day for services wasn’t an option, so after shelling out $550 I had services restored. I have had FPL for as long as I can remember and have never paid so much for a deposit or to have services restored! The feedback I’ve gotten from friends who have/do live in Homestead… HPS is a huge rip off and will be quick to cut your services but move like molasses to put it back on.
