I brought my rescue in for his first check up and they put cheese on the counter to distract him while they did the exam, he started growling and I very quickly realized he had food aggression. The girl doing the checkup scurried backwards on the floor before another staff member came in to help, they both left to get a muzzle (completely understandable, I work with dogs and would never want anyone to feel unsafe). I then heard her talking to her coworkers about how the other staff member saved her from my dog about to kill her. I am not naive enough to thing that staff members don’t talk about difficult pets, but maybe they shouldn’t do it right on the other side of the door. Another guy came in to help who said he had pit bulls at home, he was very sweet to my dog and was petting him to calm him down while he got his shots. I didn’t catch his name, but I really appreciated his patience with my dog.

Everything was wonderful! They were quick but thorough. The vet carefully reviewed my dog’s medical records and even caught a bacterial infection I didn’t know he had. I’m so happy to bring my pet to this practice and I know he will be well taken care of.

A spay can vary in price, depending on the age of the cat and what the client wants us to do. If the cat came to us for kitten vaccinations, we provide a $50 discount on the surgery if it is done before the cat is 7 months old. We do this to encourage and reward clients for spaying before the cat goes into heat. The fee can also depend on electives like preanesthetic bloodwork, but this is not required. Call the office and we can give you a pretty accurate estimate, but realize we are not a spay/neuter clinic that does 30-40 or more a day. Our doctors administer the anesthetic and are with the pet until they are awake enough to be on their own, along with a vet tech. There is a difference, for those who understand and appreciate having that individual attention. Dr. Hayes
What vets work here
You have to check with Vet so call and see if they can do it for your specific breed
I would contact your veterinarian and ask who to call in an emergency then keep the number by the refrigerator so it's easy to find by anyone
My schedule is Tuesdays and Thursdays seeing appointments all day, and I do surgery on Wednesdays. I also work one Saturday morning each month, but not the same one each month. The front staff knows the schedule for the month. Dr. Hayes
