BEWARE! John T. Henry Auctions is a dishonest business. I would strongly advise against doing business with them, especially if you plan to bid on one of their online auctions on Hibid or similar platform. I bid on an item in one of their recent online auctions through Hibid. It was a nicely framed Franklin Roosevelt signed photo and two signed letters. They titled the lot “AUTOGRAPHED LETTER AND PHOTO FDR” and gave no further description other than the dimensions of the piece. The photos in the listing showed only the front of the piece. Buying autographs online can be risky, so I emailed and called John T. Henry Auctions to find out more about the piece, but they never responded. Well, I won the piece, and when it was delivered several days later, I was dismayed to find that it was clearly a reproduction. On the back of the piece was a certificate from the “National Heritage Gallery” clearly stating that this was a reproduction. National Heritage Gallery makes and sells “manufactured collectibles” similar to the Franklin Mint or the Bradford Exchange. Any auctioneer worth his salt has dealt with these kinds of “collectibles” many times and can identify them easily. This piece was clearly marked as a reproduction, but John T. Henry Auctions chose not to disclose this in the lot description, or to photograph the documentation on the back of the piece that clearly identifies it as a reproduction. It would be like showing a photo of a gold ring, calling the lot “14k GOLD RING”, and not disclosing that it is stamped “14k GOLD PLATED” on the inside of the ring. I immediately emailed John T. Henry Auctions letting them know that I was not happy that they did not disclose that this was a reproduction, and that I wanted to return it for a refund. They did not respond. I contacted Hibid to see if they could help. According to the Hibid rep, they contacted John T. Henry Auctions about the matter, and got no response. Clearly, John T. Henry Auctions knew they were selling an obvious reproduction as genuine, did not disclose this in the lot listing, did not respond when I tried to get more info about the item, and will not even respond to a very unhappy customer. Is it risky buying autographs online? Yes, of course, but John T. Henry Auctions engaged in fraud when they did not disclose that this was actually marked as a reproduction. If it was an honest mistake on their part, I would expect them to take responsibility and correct the situation. The fact that they have been completely silent throughout tells me they knew exactly what they are doing when they sold a fake item as genuine.

I use the online auctions and this was my first time picking stuff up myself. Excellent experience well organized. Will be buying more in the future I'm sure.

Love the auction and love the people. It's a slippery slope of addiction when you realize what you can get. Look, simply, it's an auction just like any other. If you're going to bid, then you SHOULD check it out first. If you buy it without kicking the tires and then find out you don't like it, who's fault is that? They have a big "novel" to read when you sign up that says it nicer. You can find just about anything if you wait long enough. From NEW IN BOX tools to a rusty worn hammer and everything in between. A great local gem, with great deals if you bid wisely - I mean, after all you do have to know when too much is too much. Sometimes someone else just wants it more than you do. LET IT GO! Or not. And good people if you get to know them. Say hello and extend your hand. Don't be afraid to bring some things in and line them up in the next auction either. Don't expect to get what you paid for them at Macy's, but you can move that stuff you've been wondering what you were going to do with. So, sitting on the couch not doing much else but watching 90 Day Fiance? Well grab that chrome book and browse through some pages. Make some notes. Go take a look, and bid. Just don't bid against me.

Do u know when the next auction is
They almost always have appliances, but what they have from week to week varies
No sometimes if they know about the rain before they do the auction indoor.
I've been there with light drizzle and it's still going on. not sure when it might cancel
Why don't you phone them and ask?
If you are new to selling at auction, please make sure you understand the fees that Ted is going to charge you. If you set a reserve there is a separate fee, etc. If what you have are not big ticket items, you might want to sell them on the Facebook group called The Garage Sale: Horry County. There's no charge there and response is good. You can keep your information private too. Hope this helps you.
I'm pretty sure it opens at 7am Wed. morning. You can call and see if you can take anything heavy or automobiles on Tuesday.
They do have some things inside. If it is not raining tomorrow some people will bring things in early.
