My wife has a friend who does a neat job making leather goods so she has decided to give it a try also. We drove to Nashville to shop at Tandy Leather and that was an experience. They have everything for the individual who wants to develop a skill in the trade or hobby. They have the leather in bulk, they have the tools of the trade and they have the misc. support articles that you need to perform the task. They had 2 guys at the check out desk and they were a lil slow to assist us but they came around after a bit and began to help us make some choices and to offer some advice on what to use and how to use it. They have many articles on display to give you ideas and they have loads of books that you can pur hase to help guide you along. The store is in a commercial type building but the parking is right in front of the door so it is convenient. Leather work is durable but they don't give it away, so if you go, take your crexit card, you will need it!

They seem to have a decent selection of leather, but they couldn’t be bothered to help. Two guys at the front , one appeared to be looking something up and the other standing watching but neither could say hello or can I help you. I was in the shop for about 15 minutes and about 10 of it right In Front of them and nothing from either. Walked out and still nothing. From what I saw I could have used 3 large pieces, about $400 but they got $0. Apparently they don’t need the business.

I'm just starting in leather craft. I visited Tandy for the first time to get a few supplies that I didn't have. Met an employee there name Marquez, I'm sure I just butchered the spelling of his name lol. He was very helpful and he demonstrated to me a good way to cut rounded corners and explained to me clearly any questions I asked about tools and the leather and about dyeing the leather. As I was checking out with my items I met another employee name David I believe. This was a great first time experience there and I will definitely be back soon. Talking to the employees just made my interest in leather craft that much more exciting to pursue. Thank you guys for your help!
