It's a decent weather protected boat launch to access lake Mendota. Decent parking, clean restrooms. Need to pay a fee or get a pass.

Hadn't been here before yesterday (the 4th of July) and I dreaded it. Wasn't sure about parking for our truck/trailer. There was actually QUITE a bit of overflow parking. The launch is in a very small bay and while there was a decent amount of boat traffic, we had an easy time launching and trailering our boat. This is now our go-to launch in this chain of lakes.

Nice smaller park with a nice looking boat landing. Bet it's more fun in the summer, but nice view of the lake and ample parking.

What is the best place in Marshall park to see the sunset? Also, can we bring food?

Food - yes. There's no great place at Marshall Park to view the sunset. There are trees and apartments across the street to the West which block the view. Sun rises are pretty great though.
